Before my healing, I had suffered from bone-on-bone arthritis in the middle of my back for six years. The pain was constant, and I often had to slouch just to find some relief. When the doctor reviewed my X-rays, he explained that there wasn’t much he could do since the condition had progressed to bone-on-bone.
For six years, people prayed for God to heal me, but there was never a breakthrough. I had honestly given up hope that healing would come. I still allowed people to pray for me, but deep down, I didn’t expect anything to happen.
One Sunday morning, Bishop Chuck invited the millennials to come forward and serve as the prayer team because he felt God wanted to heal people that day. As they gathered at the front, I felt drawn to a young man and wanted him to pray for my healing. I went up thinking, “I’ll get prayer,” but I wasn’t expecting any change.
When I reached the front, a girl who was praying alongside him prayed for me first. I tested my back afterward, but nothing had changed. Then I asked the young man to pray for me. He admitted he was nervous, and I reassured him, saying, “It’s all good, pray for me anyway.”
He prayed a simple prayer: “God, please heal him.” After he finished, I tested my back again and all the pain was gone!
I told him, “Way to be confident and willing to come up to pray for people.” Later, I found out that he had never prayed for anyone before. I believe it had only been about ten days since he had surrendered his life to Jesus.
It’s amazing that God chose to heal me through someone who had never prayed for someone but was simply obedient to the call to pray.
