The Feast of Christ the King - Proper 29
Brothers and sisters, since Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, let us, with confidence, go to Him for our needs and those of the whole world.
That the Church may proclaim Christ as King to the glory of God the Father.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That the true Shepherd may unite His people in love and humility.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That all nations may honor Christ as King, the Lord and giver of Life, by abolishing any practice of killing innocent life.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That leaders of nations may enact just laws, mindful that their authority comes from God alone and it is to Him that they will give an account.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That we may see Christ in the poor, the stranger, the homeless and the needy.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That parents may raise up the next generation to be open to God's call to the Priesthood, the Deaconate and other Christian ministries.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
That we may be a thankful people, acknowledging God’s bountiful goodness to us.
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
For our own special intentions. (Pause)
Lord in Your mercy,
Hear our prayer.
Lord God, we look forward to the day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Hear our prayer and give us the grace to be ready for His return in glory. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
