Fourth Sunday in Advent
Brothers and sisters, confident that God is with us, let us bring our needs and those of the whole world before the God of all.
That the Church, enlightened and led by the Holy Spirit, may proclaim the coming of Christ in both word and deed.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That we, who are baptized into Christ, may be drawn deeper into our relationship with Him, making ourselves ready for His return.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That nations may bring about conditions where peace and goodwill may flourish.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That fathers, following the example of St. Joseph, may be strengthened by grace to love their wives and children and remain faithful to them.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That those who are sick may be filled with Christ’s healing presence.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
That those who suffer from hopelessness, despair or depression may find in Jesus the peace, joy and hope that only He can give.
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
For our own special intentions. (Pause)
Lord in Your mercy, Hear our prayer.
Heavenly Father, Joseph and Mary responded to Your Will by embracing Your plan for their lives. Hear our prayer and give us the grace to desire to do Your Will above all else. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.
