Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 149

Job Chapter 11

⁽¹⁾ Then Zophar the Naamathite answered and said: ⁽²⁾ Should not the multitude of words be answered? And should a man full of talk be vindicated? ⁽³⁾ Should your empty talk make men hold their peace? And when you mock, should no one rebuke you? ⁽⁴⁾ For you have said, 'My doctrine is pure, And I am clean in your eyes.'

⁽⁵⁾ But oh, that God would speak, And open His lips against you, ⁽⁶⁾ That He would show you the secrets of wisdom! For they would double your prudence. Know therefore that God exacts from you Less than your iniquity deserves. ⁽⁷⁾ Can you search out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limits of the Almighty? ⁽⁸⁾ They are higher than heaven -- what can you do? Deeper than Sheol -- what can you know?

Revelation Chapter 5

⁽¹⁾ And I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals. ⁽²⁾ Then I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the scroll and to loose its seals?' ⁽³⁾ And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the scroll, or to look at it. ⁽⁴⁾ So I wept much, because no one was found worthy to open and read the scroll, or to look at it.

⁽⁵⁾ But one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.' ⁽⁶⁾ And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. ⁽⁷⁾ Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. ⁽⁸⁾ Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

Matthew Chapter 5

⁽¹⁾ And seeing the multitudes, He went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. ⁽²⁾ Then He opened His mouth and taught them, saying: ⁽³⁾ Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. ⁽⁴⁾ Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted.

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
To give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
