Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 5

⁽¹⁾ Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. ⁽²⁾ Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. ⁽³⁾ My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up. ⁽⁴⁾ For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.

Psalm 6

Job Chapter 6

⁽¹⁾ Then Job answered and said: ⁽²⁾ Oh, that my grief were fully weighed, And my calamity laid with it on the scales! ⁽³⁾ For then it would be heavier than the sand of the sea -- Therefore my words have been rash. ⁽⁴⁾ For the arrows of the Almighty are within me; My spirit drinks in their poison; The terrors of God are arrayed against me.

⁽⁵⁾ Does the wild donkey bray when it has grass, Or does the ox low over its fodder? ⁽⁶⁾ Can flavorless food be eaten without salt? Or is there any taste in the white of an egg? ⁽⁷⁾ My soul refuses to touch them; They are as loathsome food to me. ⁽⁸⁾ Oh, that I might have my request, That God would grant me the thing that I long for!

And is success driven from me? ⁽¹⁴⁾ To him who is afflicted, kindness should be shown by his friend, Even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty. ⁽¹⁵⁾ My brothers have dealt deceitfully like a brook, Like the streams of the brooks that pass away, ⁽¹⁶⁾ Which are dark because of the ice, And into which the snow vanishes.

⁽¹⁷⁾ When it is warm, they cease to flow; When it is hot, they vanish from their place. ⁽¹⁸⁾ The paths of their way turn aside, They go nowhere and perish. ⁽¹⁹⁾ The caravans of Tema look, The travelers of Sheba hope for them. ⁽²⁰⁾ They are disappointed because they were confident; They come there and are confused.

Acts Chapter 9

⁽³²⁾ Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. ⁽³³⁾ There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. ⁽³⁴⁾ And Peter said to him, 'Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.' Then he arose immediately. ⁽³⁵⁾ So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

⁽³⁶⁾ At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. ⁽³⁷⁾ But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. ⁽³⁸⁾ And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. ⁽³⁹⁾ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁽⁴⁰⁾ But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, 'Tabitha, arise.' And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. ⁽⁴²⁾ And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord. ⁽⁴³⁾ So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.

John Chapter 6

⁽⁶⁰⁾ Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, 'This is a hard saying; who can understand it?' ⁽⁶¹⁾ When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, 'Does this offend you? ⁽⁶²⁾ What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before? ⁽⁶³⁾ It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

⁽⁶⁴⁾ But there are some of you who do not believe.' For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him. ⁽⁶⁵⁾ And He said, 'Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father.' ⁽⁶⁶⁾ From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. ⁽⁶⁷⁾ Then Jesus said to the twelve, 'Do you also want to go away?'

⁽⁶⁸⁾ But Simon Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁽⁶⁹⁾ Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' ⁽⁷⁰⁾ Jesus answered them, 'Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?' ⁽⁷¹⁾ He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who would betray Him, being one of the twelve.

A Song to the Lamb       Revelation 4:11, 5:9 to 10, 13

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,
For you created everything that is,
and by your will they were created
  and have their being;
And yours by right, O Lamb that was slain,
for with your blood you have redeemed for God,
From every family, language, people, and nation,
a kingdom of priests to serve our God.
And so, to him who sits upon the throne,

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
