Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 93

Psalm 96

Judges Chapter 6

⁽¹⁾ Then the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD. So the LORD delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years, ⁽²⁾ and the hand of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of the Midianites, the children of Israel made for themselves the dens, the caves, and the strongholds which are in the mountains. ⁽³⁾ So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them. ⁽⁴⁾ Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.

⁽⁵⁾ For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it. ⁽⁶⁾ So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the LORD. ⁽⁷⁾ And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the LORD because of the Midianites, ⁽⁸⁾ that the LORD sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, 'Thus says the LORD God of Israel: 'I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the house of bondage;

' ⁽¹¹⁾ Now the Angel of the LORD came and sat under the terebinth tree which was in Ophrah, which belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, while his son Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress, in order to hide it from the Midianites. ⁽¹²⁾ And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, 'The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!'

⁽¹³⁾ Gideon said to Him, 'O my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, 'Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?' But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ Then the LORD turned to him and said, 'Go in this might of yours, and you shall save Israel from the hand of the Midianites. Have I not sent you?' ⁽¹⁵⁾ So he said to Him, 'O my Lord, how can I save Israel? Indeed my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father's house.' ⁽¹⁶⁾ And the LORD said to him, 'Surely I will be with you, and you shall defeat the Midianites as one man.'

⁽¹⁷⁾ Then he said to Him, 'If now I have found favor in Your sight, then show me a sign that it is You who talk with me. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Do not depart from here, I pray, until I come to You and bring out my offering and set it before You.' And He said, 'I will wait until you come back.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ So Gideon went in and prepared a young goat, and unleavened bread from an ephah of flour. The meat he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot; and he brought them out to Him under the terebinth tree and presented them. ⁽²⁰⁾ The Angel of God said to him, 'Take the meat and the unleavened bread and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth.' And he did so.

⁽²¹⁾ Then the Angel of the LORD put out the end of the staff that was in His hand, and touched the meat and the unleavened bread; and fire rose out of the rock and consumed the meat and the unleavened bread. And the Angel of the LORD departed out of his sight. ⁽²²⁾ Now Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of the LORD. So Gideon said, 'Alas, O Lord GOD! For I have seen the Angel of the LORD face to face.' ⁽²³⁾ Then the LORD said to him, 'Peace be with you; do not fear, you shall not die.' ⁽²⁴⁾ So Gideon built an altar there to the LORD, and called it The-LORD-Is-Peace. To this day it is still in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

2 Corinthians Chapter 9

⁽⁶⁾ But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ⁽⁷⁾ So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁽⁸⁾ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. ⁽⁹⁾ As it is written: 'He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.'

⁽¹⁰⁾ Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, ⁽¹¹⁾ while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God. ⁽¹²⁾ For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God, ⁽¹³⁾ while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

Mark Chapter 3

⁽²⁰⁾ Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. ⁽²¹⁾ But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, 'He is out of His mind.' ⁽²²⁾ And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, 'He has Beelzebub,' and, 'By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.' ⁽²³⁾ So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: 'How can Satan cast out Satan?

⁽²⁴⁾ If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. ⁽²⁵⁾ And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. ⁽²⁶⁾ And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end. ⁽²⁷⁾ No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house.

⁽²⁸⁾ Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; ⁽²⁹⁾ but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation' -- ⁽³⁰⁾ because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit.'

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
