Ordinary Time
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 71

⁽¹⁾ In You, O LORD, I put my trust; Let me never be put to shame. ⁽²⁾ Deliver me in Your righteousness, and cause me to escape; Incline Your ear to me, and save me. ⁽³⁾ Be my strong refuge, To which I may resort continually; You have given the commandment to save me, For You are my rock and my fortress. ⁽⁴⁾ Deliver me, O my God, out of the hand of the wicked, Out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.

Ecclesiastes Chapter 11

⁽¹⁾ Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days. ⁽²⁾ Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, For you do not know what evil will be on the earth. ⁽³⁾ If the clouds are full of rain, They empty themselves upon the earth; And if a tree falls to the south or the north, In the place where the tree falls, there it shall lie. ⁽⁴⁾ He who observes the wind will not sow, And he who regards the clouds will not reap.

Galatians Chapter 5

⁽¹⁶⁾ I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. ⁽¹⁷⁾ For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. ⁽¹⁸⁾ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. ⁽¹⁹⁾ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness,

⁽²⁰⁾ idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, ⁽²¹⁾ envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. ⁽²²⁾ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ⁽²³⁾ gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

⁽²⁴⁾ And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

Matthew Chapter 16

⁽¹³⁾ When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, 'Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?' ⁽¹⁴⁾ So they said, 'Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.' ⁽¹⁵⁾ He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?' ⁽¹⁶⁾ Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'

⁽¹⁷⁾ Jesus answered and said to him, 'Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. ⁽¹⁸⁾ And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. ⁽¹⁹⁾ And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.' ⁽²⁰⁾ Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
