Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 50

⁽¹⁾ The Mighty One, God the LORD, Has spoken and called the earth From the rising of the sun to its going down. ⁽²⁾ Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God will shine forth. ⁽³⁾ Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him. ⁽⁴⁾ He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people:

⁽⁵⁾ Gather My saints together to Me, Those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.' ⁽⁶⁾ Let the heavens declare His righteousness, For God Himself is Judge. Selah ⁽⁷⁾ Hear, O My people, and I will speak, O Israel, and I will testify against you; I am God, your God! ⁽⁸⁾ I will not rebuke you for your sacrifices Or your burnt offerings, Which are continually before Me.

Ecclesiastes Chapter 3

⁽¹⁶⁾ Moreover I saw under the sun: In the place of judgment, Wickedness was there; And in the place of righteousness, Iniquity was there. ⁽¹⁷⁾ I said in my heart, 'God shall judge the righteous and the wicked, For there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ I said in my heart, 'Concerning the condition of the sons of men, God tests them, that they may see that they themselves are like animals.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ For what happens to the sons of men also happens to animals; one thing befalls them: as one dies, so dies the other. Surely, they all have one breath; man has no advantage over animals, for all is vanity.

⁽²⁰⁾ All go to one place: all are from the dust, and all return to dust. ⁽²¹⁾ Who knows the spirit of the sons of men, which goes upward, and the spirit of the animal, which goes down to the earth? ⁽²²⁾ So I perceived that nothing is better than that a man should rejoice in his own works, for that is his heritage. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him? ⁽¹⁾ Then I returned and considered all the oppression that is done under the sun: And look! The tears of the oppressed, But they have no comforter -- On the side of their oppressors there is power, But they have no comforter. ⁽²⁾ Therefore I praised the dead who were already dead, More than the living who are still alive. ⁽³⁾ Yet, better than both is he who has never existed, Who has not seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

Galatians Chapter 3

⁽¹⁾ O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified? ⁽²⁾ This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? ⁽³⁾ Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh? ⁽⁴⁾ Have you suffered so many things in vain -- if indeed it was in vain?

⁽⁵⁾ Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you, does He do it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? -- ⁽⁶⁾ just as Abraham 'believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.' ⁽⁷⁾ Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. ⁽⁸⁾ And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, 'In you all the nations shall be blessed.'

⁽⁹⁾ So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.' ⁽¹¹⁾ But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for 'the just shall live by faith.' ⁽¹²⁾ Yet the law is not of faith, but 'the man who does them shall live by them.'

⁽¹³⁾ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree'), ⁽¹⁴⁾ that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Matthew Chapter 14

⁽¹³⁾ When Jesus heard it, He departed from there by boat to a deserted place by Himself. But when the multitudes heard it, they followed Him on foot from the cities. ⁽¹⁴⁾ And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick. ⁽¹⁵⁾ When it was evening, His disciples came to Him, saying, 'This is a deserted place, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages and buy themselves food.' ⁽¹⁶⁾ But Jesus said to them, 'They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.'

⁽¹⁷⁾ And they said to Him, 'We have here only five loaves and two fish.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ He said, 'Bring them here to Me.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ Then He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass. And He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. ⁽²⁰⁾ So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.

⁽²¹⁾ Now those who had eaten were about five thousand men, besides women and children.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

O God, your never failing providence sets in order all things both in heaven and earth: Put away from us, we entreat you, all hurtful things, and give us those things which are profitable for us; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
