Easter
You shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Acts 1:8

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 105

⁽¹⁾ Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Zechariah Chapter 4

⁽¹⁾ Now the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened out of his sleep. ⁽²⁾ And he said to me, 'What do you see?' So I said, 'I am looking, and there is a lampstand of solid gold with a bowl on top of it, and on the stand seven lamps with seven pipes to the seven lamps. ⁽³⁾ Two olive trees are by it, one at the right of the bowl and the other at its left.' ⁽⁴⁾ So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, 'What are these, my lord?'

⁽⁵⁾ Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, 'Do you not know what these are?' And I said, 'No, my lord.' ⁽⁶⁾ So he answered and said to me: 'This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' Says the LORD of hosts. ⁽⁷⁾ Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of 'Grace, grace to it!' ' ' ⁽⁸⁾ Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying:

Ephesians Chapter 4

⁽¹⁷⁾ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, ⁽¹⁸⁾ having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; ⁽¹⁹⁾ who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness. ⁽²⁰⁾ But you have not so learned Christ,

⁽²¹⁾ if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: ⁽²²⁾ that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, ⁽²³⁾ and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, ⁽²⁴⁾ and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.

⁽²⁵⁾ Therefore, putting away lying, 'Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,' for we are members of one another. ⁽²⁶⁾ Be angry, and do not sin': do not let the sun go down on your wrath, ⁽²⁷⁾ nor give place to the devil. ⁽²⁸⁾ Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.

⁽²⁹⁾ Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. ⁽³⁰⁾ And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. ⁽³¹⁾ Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. ⁽³²⁾ And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

Matthew Chapter 9

⁽¹⁾ So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city. ⁽²⁾ Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, 'Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you.' ⁽³⁾ And at once some of the scribes said within themselves, 'This Man blasphemes!' ⁽⁴⁾ But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, 'Why do you think evil in your hearts?

⁽⁵⁾ For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'? ⁽⁶⁾ But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins' -- then He said to the paralytic, 'Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.' ⁽⁷⁾ And he arose and departed to his house. ⁽⁸⁾ Now when the multitudes saw it, they marveled and glorified God, who had given such power to men.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.

O God, the King of glory, you have exalted your only Son Jesus Christ with great triumph to your kingdom in heaven: Do not leave us comfortless, but send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen us, and exalt us to that place where our Savior Christ has gone before; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, in glory everlasting. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
