Easter
On this day the Lord has acted; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;

The Lessons

Psalm 18

⁽¹⁾ I will love You, O LORD, my strength. ⁽²⁾ The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. ⁽³⁾ I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; So shall I be saved from my enemies. ⁽⁴⁾ The pangs of death surrounded me, And the floods of ungodliness made me afraid.

Exodus Chapter 16

⁽¹⁰⁾ Now it came to pass, as Aaron spoke to the whole congregation of the children of Israel, that they looked toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the LORD appeared in the cloud. ⁽¹¹⁾ And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, ⁽¹²⁾ I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, 'At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the LORD your God.' ' ⁽¹³⁾ So it was that quails came up at evening and covered the camp, and in the morning the dew lay all around the camp.

⁽¹⁴⁾ And when the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground. ⁽¹⁵⁾ So when the children of Israel saw it, they said to one another, 'What is it?' For they did not know what it was. And Moses said to them, 'This is the bread which the LORD has given you to eat. ⁽¹⁶⁾ This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: 'Let every man gather it according to each one's need, one omer for each person, according to the number of persons; let every man take for those who are in his tent.' ' ⁽¹⁷⁾ Then the children of Israel did so and gathered, some more, some less.

⁽¹⁸⁾ So when they measured it by omers, he who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack. Every man had gathered according to each one's need. ⁽¹⁹⁾ And Moses said, 'Let no one leave any of it till morning.' ⁽²⁰⁾ Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank. And Moses was angry with them. ⁽²¹⁾ So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.

1 Peter Chapter 2

⁽¹¹⁾ Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul, ⁽¹²⁾ having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation. ⁽¹³⁾ Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme, ⁽¹⁴⁾ or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.

⁽¹⁵⁾ For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men -- ⁽¹⁶⁾ as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Servants, be submissive to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and gentle, but also to the harsh.

⁽¹⁹⁾ For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully. ⁽²⁰⁾ For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. ⁽²¹⁾ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: ⁽²²⁾ Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth';

⁽²³⁾ who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; ⁽²⁴⁾ who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness -- by whose stripes you were healed. ⁽²⁵⁾ For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

John Chapter 15

⁽¹²⁾ This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. ⁽¹³⁾ Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends. ⁽¹⁴⁾ You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. ⁽¹⁵⁾ No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.

⁽¹⁶⁾ You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. ⁽¹⁷⁾ These things I command you, that you love one another. ⁽¹⁸⁾ If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. ⁽¹⁹⁾ If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

⁽²⁰⁾ Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. ⁽²¹⁾ But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. ⁽²²⁾ If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. ⁽²³⁾ He who hates Me hates My Father also.

⁽²⁴⁾ If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. ⁽²⁵⁾ But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.' ⁽²⁶⁾ But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. ⁽²⁷⁾ And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
