Easter Week
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;

Exodus Chapter 12

⁽²⁸⁾ Then the children of Israel went away and did so; just as the LORD had commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did. ⁽²⁹⁾ And it came to pass at midnight that the LORD struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock. ⁽³⁰⁾ So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead. ⁽³¹⁾ Then he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, 'Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel. 1 Corinthians Chapter 15

⁽¹²⁾ Now if Christ is preached that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? ⁽¹³⁾ But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen. ⁽¹⁴⁾ And if Christ is not risen, then our preaching is empty and your faith is also empty. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up -- if in fact the dead do not rise.

⁽¹⁶⁾ For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen. ⁽¹⁷⁾ And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! ⁽¹⁸⁾ Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. ⁽¹⁹⁾ If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.

⁽²⁰⁾ But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. ⁽²¹⁾ For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. ⁽²²⁾ For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. ⁽²³⁾ But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ's at His coming.

⁽²⁴⁾ Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. ⁽²⁵⁾ For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. ⁽²⁶⁾ The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. ⁽²⁷⁾ For 'He has put all things under His feet.' But when He says 'all things are put under Him,' it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted.

⁽²⁸⁾ Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

Mark Chapter 16

⁽⁹⁾ Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. ⁽¹⁰⁾ She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. ⁽¹¹⁾ And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe. ⁽¹²⁾ After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country.

⁽¹³⁾ And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either. ⁽¹⁴⁾ Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. ⁽¹⁵⁾ And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. ⁽¹⁶⁾ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

⁽¹⁷⁾ And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; ⁽¹⁸⁾ they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. ⁽²⁰⁾ And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. A Song to the Lamb       Revelation 4:11, 5:9 to 10, 13

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,
For you created everything that is,
and by your will they were created
  and have their being;

for with your blood you have redeemed for God,
From every family, language, people, and nation,
a kingdom of priests to serve our God.

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

O God, who by the glorious resurrection of your Son Jesus Christ destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light: Grant that we, who have been raised with him, may abide in his presence and rejoice in the hope of eternal glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be dominion and praise forever and ever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: O God, the author of peace and lover of concord, to know you is eternal life and to serve you is perfect freedom: Defend us, your humble servants, in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in your defense, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. A Prayer for Mission: O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
