Morning Prayer

Lent
To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against him and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following his laws which he set before us. Daniel 9:9, 10

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 30

⁽¹⁾ I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. ⁽²⁾ O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. ⁽³⁾ O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. ⁽⁴⁾ Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Psalm 32

Ezekiel Chapter 39

⁽²¹⁾ I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them. ⁽²²⁾ So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day forward. ⁽²³⁾ The Gentiles shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity; because they were unfaithful to Me, therefore I hid My face from them. I gave them into the hand of their enemies, and they all fell by the sword. ⁽²⁴⁾ According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions I have dealt with them, and hidden My face from them.' '

⁽²⁵⁾ Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: 'Now I will bring back the captives of Jacob, and have mercy on the whole house of Israel; and I will be jealous for My holy name -- ⁽²⁶⁾ after they have borne their shame, and all their unfaithfulness in which they were unfaithful to Me, when they dwelt safely in their own land and no one made them afraid. ⁽²⁷⁾ When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and I am hallowed in them in the sight of many nations, ⁽²⁸⁾ then they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who sent them into captivity among the nations, but also brought them back to their land, and left none of them captive any longer.

Philippians Chapter 4

John Chapter 17

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

O God, who before the passion of your only begotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. A Prayer for Mission: Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.
