Epiphany
From the rising of the sun to its setting my Name shall be great among the nations, and in every place incense shall be offered to my Name, and a pure offering: for my Name shall be great among the nations, says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 1:11

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Genesis Chapter 29

⁽²⁰⁾ So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed only a few days to him because of the love he had for her. ⁽²¹⁾ Then Jacob said to Laban, 'Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in to her.' ⁽²²⁾ And Laban gathered together all the men of the place and made a feast. ⁽²³⁾ Now it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter and brought her to Jacob; and he went in to her.

⁽²⁴⁾ And Laban gave his maid Zilpah to his daughter Leah as a maid. ⁽²⁵⁾ So it came to pass in the morning, that behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, 'What is this you have done to me? Was it not for Rachel that I served you? Why then have you deceived me?' ⁽²⁶⁾ And Laban said, 'It must not be done so in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn. ⁽²⁷⁾ Fulfill her week, and we will give you this one also for the service which you will serve with me still another seven years.'

So he gave him his daughter Rachel as wife also. ⁽²⁹⁾ And Laban gave his maid Bilhah to his daughter Rachel as a maid. ⁽³⁰⁾ Then Jacob also went in to Rachel, and he also loved Rachel more than Leah. And he served with Laban still another seven years. ⁽³¹⁾ When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren.

⁽³²⁾ So Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Reuben; for she said, 'The LORD has surely looked on my affliction. Now therefore, my husband will love me.' ⁽³³⁾ Then she conceived again and bore a son, and said, 'Because the LORD has heard that I am unloved, He has therefore given me this son also.' And she called his name Simeon. ⁽³⁴⁾ She conceived again and bore a son, and said, 'Now this time my husband will become attached to me, because I have borne him three sons.' 1 Timothy Chapter 3

⁽¹⁴⁾ These things I write to you, though I hope to come to you shortly; ⁽¹⁵⁾ but if I am delayed, I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. ⁽¹⁶⁾ And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory. ⁽¹⁾ Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, ⁽²⁾ speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, ⁽³⁾ forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. ⁽⁴⁾ For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;

⁽⁵⁾ for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. ⁽⁶⁾ If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed. ⁽⁷⁾ But reject profane and old wives' fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. ⁽⁸⁾ For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

⁽⁹⁾ This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

Mark Chapter 10

⁽²³⁾ Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, 'How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!' ⁽²⁴⁾ And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, 'Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! ⁽²⁵⁾ It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.' ⁽²⁶⁾ And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, 'Who then can be saved?'

⁽²⁷⁾ But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.' ⁽²⁸⁾ Then Peter began to say to Him, 'See, we have left all and followed You.' ⁽²⁹⁾ So Jesus answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands, for My sake and the gospel's, ⁽³⁰⁾ who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time -- houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions -- and in the age to come, eternal life.

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.

O God, the strength of all who put their trust in you: Mercifully accept our prayers; and because in our weakness we can do nothing good without you, give us the help of your grace, that in keeping your commandments we may please you both in will and deed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
