Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 138

⁽¹⁾ I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. ⁽²⁾ I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your lovingkindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. ⁽³⁾ In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. ⁽⁴⁾ All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O LORD, When they hear the words of Your mouth.

Jeremiah Chapter 23

⁽¹⁾ Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep of My pasture!' says the LORD. ⁽²⁾ Therefore thus says the LORD God of Israel against the shepherds who feed My people: 'You have scattered My flock, driven them away, and not attended to them. Behold, I will attend to you for the evil of your doings,' says the LORD. ⁽³⁾ But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. ⁽⁴⁾ I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them; and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,' says the LORD.

⁽⁵⁾ Behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. ⁽⁶⁾ In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. ⁽⁷⁾ Therefore, behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'that they shall no longer say, 'As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' ⁽⁸⁾ but, 'As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.' Colossians Chapter 2

⁽⁸⁾ Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. ⁽⁹⁾ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; ⁽¹⁰⁾ and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. ⁽¹¹⁾ In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

⁽¹⁶⁾ So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, ⁽¹⁷⁾ which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, ⁽¹⁹⁾ and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

⁽²⁰⁾ Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations -- ⁽²¹⁾ Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,' ⁽²²⁾ which all concern things which perish with the using -- according to the commandments and doctrines of men? ⁽²³⁾ These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.

John Chapter 10

⁽⁷⁾ Then Jesus said to them again, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. ⁽⁸⁾ All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them. ⁽⁹⁾ I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. ⁽¹⁰⁾ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

⁽¹¹⁾ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. ⁽¹²⁾ But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. ⁽¹³⁾ The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. ⁽¹⁴⁾ I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

⁽¹⁵⁾ As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. ⁽¹⁶⁾ And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

O God, by the leading of a star you manifested your only Son to the peoples of the earth: Lead us, who know you now by faith, to your presence, where we may see your glory face to face; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
