Ordinary Time
Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 107

⁽³³⁾ He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; ⁽³⁴⁾ A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. ⁽³⁵⁾ He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. ⁽³⁶⁾ There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place,

⁽³⁷⁾ And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest. ⁽³⁸⁾ He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease. ⁽³⁹⁾ When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction and sorrow, ⁽⁴⁰⁾ He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;

Psalm 108

⁽¹⁾ O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. ⁽²⁾ Awake, lute and harp! 2 Kings Chapter 19

⁽²¹⁾ This is the word which the LORD has spoken concerning him: 'The virgin, the daughter of Zion, Has despised you, laughed you to scorn; The daughter of Jerusalem Has shaken her head behind your back! ⁽²²⁾ Whom have you reproached and blasphemed? Against whom have you raised your voice, And lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel. ⁽²³⁾ By your messengers you have reproached the Lord, And said: 'By the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, To the limits of Lebanon; I will cut down its tall cedars And its choice cypress trees; I will enter the extremity of its borders, To its fruitful forest. ⁽²⁴⁾ I have dug and drunk strange water, And with the soles of my feet I have dried up All the brooks of defense.'

1 Corinthians Chapter 10

⁽¹⁾ Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, ⁽²⁾ all were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, ⁽³⁾ all ate the same spiritual food, ⁽⁴⁾ and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.

⁽⁵⁾ But with most of them God was not well pleased, for their bodies were scattered in the wilderness. ⁽⁶⁾ Now these things became our examples, to the intent that we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted. ⁽⁷⁾ And do not become idolaters as were some of them. As it is written, 'The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.' ⁽⁸⁾ Nor let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them did, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell;

⁽⁹⁾ nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; ⁽¹⁰⁾ nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer. ⁽¹¹⁾ Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come. ⁽¹²⁾ Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

⁽¹³⁾ No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Matthew Chapter 8

⁽²²⁾ But Jesus said to him, 'Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.' ⁽²³⁾ Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. ⁽²⁴⁾ And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. ⁽²⁵⁾ Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, 'Lord, save us! We are perishing!'

⁽²⁶⁾ But He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. ⁽²⁷⁾ So the men marveled, saying, 'Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
