Ordinary Time
Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 105

⁽¹⁾ Oh, give thanks to the LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! ⁽²⁾ Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! ⁽³⁾ Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! ⁽⁴⁾ Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face evermore!

2 Kings Chapter 18

⁽²⁸⁾ Then the Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in Hebrew, and spoke, saying, 'Hear the word of the great king, the king of Assyria! ⁽²⁹⁾ Thus says the king: 'Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you from his hand; ⁽³⁰⁾ nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, 'The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.' ' ⁽³¹⁾ Do not listen to Hezekiah; for thus says the king of Assyria: 'Make peace with me by a present and come out to me; and every one of you eat from his own vine and every one from his own fig tree, and every one of you drink the waters of his own cistern;

⁽³²⁾ until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of bread and vineyards, a land of olive groves and honey, that you may live and not die. But do not listen to Hezekiah, lest he persuade you, saying, 'The LORD will deliver us.' ⁽³³⁾ Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? ⁽³⁴⁾ Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? ⁽³⁵⁾ Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?' '

⁽³⁶⁾ But the people held their peace and answered him not a word; for the king's commandment was, 'Do not answer him.' ⁽³⁷⁾ Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, Shebna the scribe, and Joah the son of Asaph, the recorder, came to Hezekiah with their clothes torn, and told him the words of the Rabshakeh.

1 Corinthians Chapter 9

⁽¹⁾ Am I not an apostle? Am I not free? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? Are you not my work in the Lord? ⁽²⁾ If I am not an apostle to others, yet doubtless I am to you. For you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord. ⁽³⁾ My defense to those who examine me is this: ⁽⁴⁾ Do we have no right to eat and drink?

⁽⁵⁾ Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? ⁽⁶⁾ Or is it only Barnabas and I who have no right to refrain from working? ⁽⁷⁾ Who ever goes to war at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard and does not eat of its fruit? Or who tends a flock and does not drink of the milk of the flock? ⁽⁸⁾ Do I say these things as a mere man? Or does not the law say the same also?

⁽⁹⁾ For it is written in the law of Moses, 'You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.' Is it oxen God is concerned about? ⁽¹⁰⁾ Or does He say it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written, that he who plows should plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should be partaker of his hope. ⁽¹¹⁾ If we have sown spiritual things for you, is it a great thing if we reap your material things? ⁽¹²⁾ If others are partakers of this right over you, are we not even more? Nevertheless we have not used this right, but endure all things lest we hinder the gospel of Christ.

⁽¹³⁾ Do you not know that those who minister the holy things eat of the things of the temple, and those who serve at the altar partake of the offerings of the altar? ⁽¹⁴⁾ Even so the Lord has commanded that those who preach the gospel should live from the gospel. ⁽¹⁵⁾ But I have used none of these things, nor have I written these things that it should be done so to me; for it would be better for me to die than that anyone should make my boasting void.

Matthew Chapter 7

⁽²²⁾ Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' ⁽²³⁾ And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' ⁽²⁴⁾ Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: ⁽²⁵⁾ and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.

⁽²⁶⁾ But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: ⁽²⁷⁾ and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.' ⁽²⁸⁾ And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching, ⁽²⁹⁾ for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
