Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 63

⁽¹⁾ O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. ⁽²⁾ So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. ⁽³⁾ Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. ⁽⁴⁾ Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.

Psalm 98

1 Kings Chapter 12

⁽²¹⁾ And when Rehoboam came to Jerusalem, he assembled all the house of Judah with the tribe of Benjamin, one hundred and eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against the house of Israel, that he might restore the kingdom to Rehoboam the son of Solomon. ⁽²²⁾ But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying, ⁽²³⁾ Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, to all the house of Judah and Benjamin, and to the rest of the people, saying, ⁽²⁴⁾ Thus says the LORD: 'You shall not go up nor fight against your brethren the children of Israel. Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.' ' ' Therefore they obeyed the word of the LORD, and turned back, according to the word of the LORD.

⁽²⁵⁾ Then Jeroboam built Shechem in the mountains of Ephraim, and dwelt there. Also he went out from there and built Penuel. ⁽²⁶⁾ And Jeroboam said in his heart, 'Now the kingdom may return to the house of David: ⁽²⁷⁾ If these people go up to offer sacrifices in the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, then the heart of this people will turn back to their lord, Rehoboam king of Judah, and they will kill me and go back to Rehoboam king of Judah.' ⁽²⁸⁾ Therefore the king asked advice, made two calves of gold, and said to the people, 'It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, O Israel, which brought you up from the land of Egypt!'

⁽²⁹⁾ And he set up one in Bethel, and the other he put in Dan. ⁽³⁰⁾ Now this thing became a sin, for the people went to worship before the one as far as Dan. ⁽³¹⁾ He made shrines on the high places, and made priests from every class of people, who were not of the sons of Levi. ⁽³²⁾ Jeroboam ordained a feast on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, like the feast that was in Judah, and offered sacrifices on the altar. So he did at Bethel, sacrificing to the calves that he had made. And at Bethel he installed the priests of the high places which he had made.

⁽³³⁾ So he made offerings on the altar which he had made at Bethel on the fifteenth day of the eighth month, in the month which he had devised in his own heart. And he ordained a feast for the children of Israel, and offered sacrifices on the altar and burned incense.

Acts Chapter 4

⁽¹⁸⁾ And they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. ⁽¹⁹⁾ But Peter and John answered and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. ⁽²⁰⁾ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.' ⁽²¹⁾ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done.

⁽²²⁾ For the man was over forty years old on whom this miracle of healing had been performed. ⁽²³⁾ And being let go, they went to their own companions and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said to them. ⁽²⁴⁾ So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: 'Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them, ⁽²⁵⁾ who by the mouth of Your servant David have said: 'Why did the nations rage, And the people plot vain things?

⁽²⁶⁾ The kings of the earth took their stand, And the rulers were gathered together Against the LORD and against His Christ.' ⁽²⁷⁾ For truly against Your holy Servant Jesus, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together ⁽²⁸⁾ to do whatever Your hand and Your purpose determined before to be done. ⁽²⁹⁾ Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word,

⁽³⁰⁾ by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.' ⁽³¹⁾ And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

John Chapter 10

⁽³¹⁾ Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him. ⁽³²⁾ Jesus answered them, 'Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?' ⁽³³⁾ The Jews answered Him, saying, 'For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God.' ⁽³⁴⁾ Jesus answered them, 'Is it not written in your law, 'I said, 'You are gods' '?

⁽³⁵⁾ If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), ⁽³⁶⁾ do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? ⁽³⁷⁾ If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; ⁽³⁸⁾ but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.'

⁽³⁹⁾ Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Then many came to Him and said, 'John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true.' ⁽⁴²⁾ And many believed in Him there.

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
