(5) In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah. (6) And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, 'You shall not come in here; but the blind and the lame will repel you,' thinking, 'David cannot come in here.' (7) Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion (that is, the City of David). (8) Now David said on that day, 'Whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites (the lame and the blind, who are hated by David's soul), he shall be chief and captain.' Therefore they say, 'The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.'
(9) Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward. (10) So David went on and became great, and the LORD God of hosts was with him. (11) Then Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and carpenters and masons. And they built David a house. (12) So David knew that the LORD had established him as king over Israel, and that He had exalted His kingdom for the sake of His people Israel.

(5) But the Jews who were not persuaded, becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. (6) But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, 'These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. (7) Jason has harbored them, and these are all acting contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying there is another king -- Jesus.' (8) And they troubled the crowd and the rulers of the city when they heard these things.
(9) So when they had taken security from Jason and the rest, they let them go. (10) Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. (11) These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. (12) Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men.
(13) But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds. (14) Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there. (15) So those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed.

(29) Then He said to her, 'For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.' (32) Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. (33) And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. (34) Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, 'Ephphatha,' that is, 'Be opened.' (35) Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.
(36) Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. (37) And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, 'He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.'

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
