Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 41

⁽¹⁾ Blessed is he who considers the poor; The LORD will deliver him in time of trouble. ⁽²⁾ The LORD will preserve him and keep him alive, And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. ⁽³⁾ The LORD will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed. ⁽⁴⁾ I said, 'LORD, be merciful to me; Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.'

Psalm 52

1 Samuel Chapter 24

⁽¹⁾ Now it happened, when Saul had returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, 'Take note! David is in the Wilderness of En Gedi.' ⁽²⁾ Then Saul took three thousand chosen men from all Israel, and went to seek David and his men on the Rocks of the Wild Goats. ⁽³⁾ So he came to the sheepfolds by the road, where there was a cave; and Saul went in to attend to his needs. (David and his men were staying in the recesses of the cave.) ⁽⁴⁾ Then the men of David said to him, 'This is the day of which the LORD said to you, 'Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.' ' And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul's robe.

⁽⁵⁾ Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe. ⁽⁶⁾ And he said to his men, 'The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.' ⁽⁷⁾ So David restrained his servants with these words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way. ⁽⁸⁾ David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, 'My lord the king!' And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down.

⁽⁹⁾ And David said to Saul: 'Why do you listen to the words of men who say, 'Indeed David seeks your harm'? ⁽¹⁰⁾ Look, this day your eyes have seen that the LORD delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, 'I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD's anointed.' ⁽¹¹⁾ Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my life to take it. ⁽¹²⁾ Let the LORD judge between you and me, and let the LORD avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.

⁽¹³⁾ As the proverb of the ancients says, 'Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.' But my hand shall not be against you. ⁽¹⁴⁾ After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea? ⁽¹⁵⁾ Therefore let the LORD be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.' ⁽¹⁶⁾ So it was, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, 'Is this your voice, my son David?' And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.

⁽¹⁷⁾ Then he said to David: 'You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. ⁽¹⁸⁾ And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me; for when the LORD delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me. ⁽¹⁹⁾ For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely? Therefore may the LORD reward you with good for what you have done to me this day. ⁽²⁰⁾ And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.

⁽²¹⁾ Therefore swear now to me by the LORD that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name from my father's house.' ⁽²²⁾ So David swore to Saul. And Saul went home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

Acts Chapter 13

⁽⁴⁴⁾ On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. ⁽⁴⁵⁾ But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. ⁽⁴⁶⁾ Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, 'It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ For so the Lord has commanded us: 'I have set you as a light to the Gentiles, That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.' '

⁽⁴⁸⁾ Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. ⁽⁴⁹⁾ And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region. ⁽⁵⁰⁾ But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. ⁽⁵¹⁾ But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.

Mark Chapter 4

⁽¹⁾ And again He began to teach by the sea. And a great multitude was gathered to Him, so that He got into a boat and sat in it on the sea; and the whole multitude was on the land facing the sea. ⁽²⁾ Then He taught them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching: ⁽³⁾ Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. ⁽⁴⁾ And it happened, as he sowed, that some seed fell by the wayside; and the birds of the air came and devoured it.

⁽⁵⁾ Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. ⁽⁶⁾ But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. ⁽⁷⁾ And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. ⁽⁸⁾ But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.'

⁽⁹⁾ And He said to them, 'He who has ears to hear, let him hear!' ⁽¹⁰⁾ But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. ⁽¹¹⁾ And He said to them, 'To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, ⁽¹²⁾ so that 'Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them.' '

⁽¹³⁾ And He said to them, 'Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? ⁽¹⁴⁾ The sower sows the word. ⁽¹⁵⁾ And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. ⁽¹⁶⁾ These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

⁽¹⁷⁾ and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, ⁽¹⁹⁾ and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. ⁽²⁰⁾ But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
