Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen
The Invitatory and Psalter Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen Alleluia

Come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the caverns of the earth,
and the heights of the hills are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have molded the dry land.
Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice!
The Antiphon:
The Lessons
Psalm 41
(5) My enemies speak evil of me: 'When will he die, and his name perish?' (6) And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; When he goes out, he tells it. (7) All who hate me whisper together against me; Against me they devise my hurt. (8) An evil disease,' they say, 'clings to him. And now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.'
(9) Even my own familiar friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me. (10) But You, O LORD, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them. (11) By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me. (12) As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.
(13) Blessed be the LORD God of Israel From everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Psalm 52
(5) God shall likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your dwelling place, And uproot you from the land of the living. Selah (6) The righteous also shall see and fear, And shall laugh at him, saying, (7) Here is the man who did not make God his strength, But trusted in the abundance of his riches, And strengthened himself in his wickedness.' (8) But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the mercy of God forever and ever.
(9) I will praise You forever, Because You have done it; And in the presence of Your saints I will wait on Your name, for it is good.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
1 Samuel Chapter 24
(5) Now it happened afterward that David's heart troubled him because he had cut Saul's robe. (6) And he said to his men, 'The LORD forbid that I should do this thing to my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch out my hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.' (7) So David restrained his servants with these words, and did not allow them to rise against Saul. And Saul got up from the cave and went on his way. (8) David also arose afterward, went out of the cave, and called out to Saul, saying, 'My lord the king!' And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed down.
(9) And David said to Saul: 'Why do you listen to the words of men who say, 'Indeed David seeks your harm'? (10) Look, this day your eyes have seen that the LORD delivered you today into my hand in the cave, and someone urged me to kill you. But my eye spared you, and I said, 'I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is the LORD's anointed.' (11) Moreover, my father, see! Yes, see the corner of your robe in my hand! For in that I cut off the corner of your robe, and did not kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor rebellion in my hand, and I have not sinned against you. Yet you hunt my life to take it. (12) Let the LORD judge between you and me, and let the LORD avenge me on you. But my hand shall not be against you.
(13) As the proverb of the ancients says, 'Wickedness proceeds from the wicked.' But my hand shall not be against you. (14) After whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea? (15) Therefore let the LORD be judge, and judge between you and me, and see and plead my case, and deliver me out of your hand.' (16) So it was, when David had finished speaking these words to Saul, that Saul said, 'Is this your voice, my son David?' And Saul lifted up his voice and wept.
(17) Then he said to David: 'You are more righteous than I; for you have rewarded me with good, whereas I have rewarded you with evil. (18) And you have shown this day how you have dealt well with me; for when the LORD delivered me into your hand, you did not kill me. (19) For if a man finds his enemy, will he let him get away safely? Therefore may the LORD reward you with good for what you have done to me this day. (20) And now I know indeed that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
(21) Therefore swear now to me by the LORD that you will not cut off my descendants after me, and that you will not destroy my name from my father's house.' (22) So David swore to Saul. And Saul went home, but David and his men went up to the stronghold.

Acts Chapter 13
(48) Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. (49) And the word of the Lord was being spread throughout all the region. (50) But the Jews stirred up the devout and prominent women and the chief men of the city, raised up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and expelled them from their region. (51) But they shook off the dust from their feet against them, and came to Iconium.
(52) And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

Mark Chapter 4
(5) Some fell on stony ground, where it did not have much earth; and immediately it sprang up because it had no depth of earth. (6) But when the sun was up it was scorched, and because it had no root it withered away. (7) And some seed fell among thorns; and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no crop. (8) But other seed fell on good ground and yielded a crop that sprang up, increased and produced: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.'
(9) And He said to them, 'He who has ears to hear, let him hear!' (10) But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. (11) And He said to them, 'To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, (12) so that 'Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them.' '
(13) And He said to them, 'Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables? (14) The sower sows the word. (15) And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. (16) These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
(17) and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble. (18) Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, (19) and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. (20) But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.'

O ruler of the universe, Lord God,
great deeds are they that you have done,
surpassing human understanding.
Your ways are ways of righteousness and truth,
O King of all the ages.
Who can fail to do you homage, Lord,
and sing the praises of your Name?
for you only are the Holy One.
All nations will draw near
and fall down before you,
  because your just and holy works have been revealed.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
  as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
The First Song of Isaiah       Isaiah 12:2 to 6
Surely, it is God who saves me;
I will trust in him and not be afraid.
For the Lord is my stronghold
and my sure defense,
and he will be my Savior.
Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicing
from the springs of salvation.
And on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to the Lord and call upon his Name;
Make his deeds known among the peoples;
see that they remember that his Name is exalted.
Sing the praises of the Lord,
for he has done great things,
and this is known in all the world.
Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, ring out your joy,
for the great one in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
  the communion of saints,
  the forgiveness of sins,
  the resurrection of the body,
  and the life everlasting. Amen.

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our
necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have
compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those
things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our
blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son
Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the

Thanksgiving
Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory, and, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
