Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 5

Psalm 6

1 Samuel Chapter 15

⁽²⁴⁾ Then Saul said to Samuel, 'I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice. ⁽²⁵⁾ Now therefore, please pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD.' ⁽²⁶⁾ But Samuel said to Saul, 'I will not return with you, for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.' ⁽²⁷⁾ And as Samuel turned around to go away, Saul seized the edge of his robe, and it tore.

⁽²⁸⁾ So Samuel said to him, 'The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you. ⁽²⁹⁾ And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor relent. For He is not a man, that He should relent.' ⁽³⁰⁾ Then he said, 'I have sinned; yet honor me now, please, before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.' ⁽³¹⁾ So Samuel turned back after Saul, and Saul worshiped the LORD.

⁽³²⁾ Then Samuel said, 'Bring Agag king of the Amalekites here to me.' So Agag came to him cautiously. And Agag said, 'Surely the bitterness of death is past.' ⁽³³⁾ But Samuel said, 'As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women.' And Samuel hacked Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal. ⁽³⁴⁾ Then Samuel went to Ramah, and Saul went up to his house at Gibeah of Saul. ⁽³⁵⁾ And Samuel went no more to see Saul until the day of his death. Nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul, and the LORD regretted that He had made Saul king over Israel.

Acts Chapter 9

⁽³²⁾ Now it came to pass, as Peter went through all parts of the country, that he also came down to the saints who dwelt in Lydda. ⁽³³⁾ There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden eight years and was paralyzed. ⁽³⁴⁾ And Peter said to him, 'Aeneas, Jesus the Christ heals you. Arise and make your bed.' Then he arose immediately. ⁽³⁵⁾ So all who dwelt at Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

⁽³⁶⁾ At Joppa there was a certain disciple named Tabitha, which is translated Dorcas. This woman was full of good works and charitable deeds which she did. ⁽³⁷⁾ But it happened in those days that she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. ⁽³⁸⁾ And since Lydda was near Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent two men to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. ⁽³⁹⁾ Then Peter arose and went with them. When he had come, they brought him to the upper room. And all the widows stood by him weeping, showing the tunics and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.

⁽⁴⁰⁾ But Peter put them all out, and knelt down and prayed. And turning to the body he said, 'Tabitha, arise.' And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Then he gave her his hand and lifted her up; and when he had called the saints and widows, he presented her alive. ⁽⁴²⁾ And it became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed on the Lord. ⁽⁴³⁾ So it was that he stayed many days in Joppa with Simon, a tanner.

Luke Chapter 23

⁽⁵⁶⁾ Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment. ⁽¹⁾ Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. ⁽²⁾ But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. ⁽³⁾ Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. ⁽⁴⁾ And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments.

⁽⁵⁾ Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, 'Why do you seek the living among the dead? ⁽⁶⁾ He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, ⁽⁷⁾ saying, 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.' ' ⁽⁸⁾ And they remembered His words.

⁽⁹⁾ Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. ⁽¹⁰⁾ It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. ⁽¹¹⁾ And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them.

Splendor and honor and kingly power

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

  He descended to the dead.
