Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2
Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.
Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen
The Invitatory and Psalter Lord, open our lips. And our mouth shall proclaim your praise
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen Alleluia

Come, let us sing to the Lord;
let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving
and raise a loud shout to him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great God,
and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are the caverns of the earth,
and the heights of the hills are his also.
The sea is his, for he made it,
and his hands have molded the dry land.
Come, let us bow down, and bend the knee,
and kneel before the Lord our Maker.
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand.
Oh, that today you would hearken to his voice!

The Lessons
Psalm 80
(5) You have fed them with the bread of tears, And given them tears to drink in great measure. (6) You have made us a strife to our neighbors, And our enemies laugh among themselves. (7) Restore us, O God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! (8) You have brought a vine out of Egypt; You have cast out the nations, and planted it.
(9) You prepared room for it, And caused it to take deep root, And it filled the land. (10) The hills were covered with its shadow, And the mighty cedars with its boughs. (11) She sent out her boughs to the Sea, And her branches to the River. (12) Why have You broken down her hedges, So that all who pass by the way pluck her fruit?
(13) The boar out of the woods uproots it, And the wild beast of the field devours it. (14) Return, we beseech You, O God of hosts; Look down from heaven and see, And visit this vine (15) And the vineyard which Your right hand has planted, And the branch that You made strong for Yourself. (16) It is burned with fire, it is cut down; They perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.
(17) Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, Upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself. (18) Then we will not turn back from You; Revive us, and we will call upon Your name. (19) Restore us, O LORD God of hosts; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved!
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
1 Samuel Chapter 1
(5) But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the LORD had closed her womb. (6) And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb. (7) So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. (8) Then Elkanah her husband said to her, 'Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?'
(9) So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. (10) And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. (11) Then she made a vow and said, 'O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.' (12) And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth.
(13) Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. (14) So Eli said to her, 'How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!' (15) And Hannah answered and said, 'No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. (16) Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.'
(17) Then Eli answered and said, 'Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.' (18) And she said, 'Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.' So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. (19) Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her. (20) So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, 'Because I have asked for him from the LORD.'

Acts Chapter 1
(5) for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.' (6) Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, 'Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?' (7) And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. (8) But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'
(9) Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. (10) And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, (11) who also said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.' (12) Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.
(13) And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. (14) These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Luke Chapter 20
(13) Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.' (14) But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' (15) So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? (16) He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.' And when they heard it they said, 'Certainly not!'
(17) Then He looked at them and said, 'What then is this that is written: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone'? (18) Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.' (19) And the chief priests and the scribes that very hour sought to lay hands on Him, but they feared the people -- for they knew He had spoken this parable against them.

The First Song of Isaiah       Isaiah 12:2 to 6
Surely, it is God who saves me;
I will trust in him and not be afraid.
For the Lord is my stronghold
and my sure defense,
and he will be my Savior.
Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicing
from the springs of salvation.
And on that day you shall say,
Give thanks to the Lord and call upon his Name;
Make his deeds known among the peoples;
see that they remember that his Name is exalted.
Sing the praises of the Lord,
for he has done great things,
and this is known in all the world.
Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, ring out your joy,
for the great one in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

Almighty God, Father of all mercies, we your unworthy servants give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and all the blessings of this life; but above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory, and, we pray, give us such an awareness of your mercies, that with truly thankful hearts we may show forth your praise, not only with our lips, but in our lives, by giving up ourselves to your service, and by walking before you in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom, with you and the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory throughout all ages.
