Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 80

⁽¹⁾ Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth! ⁽²⁾ Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, Stir up Your strength, And come and save us! ⁽³⁾ Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine, And we shall be saved! ⁽⁴⁾ O LORD God of hosts, How long will You be angry Against the prayer of Your people?

1 Samuel Chapter 1

⁽¹⁾ Now there was a certain man of Ramathaim Zophim, of the mountains of Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephraimite. ⁽²⁾ And he had two wives: the name of one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah. Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children. ⁽³⁾ This man went up from his city yearly to worship and sacrifice to the LORD of hosts in Shiloh. Also the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of the LORD, were there. ⁽⁴⁾ And whenever the time came for Elkanah to make an offering, he would give portions to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and daughters.

⁽⁵⁾ But to Hannah he would give a double portion, for he loved Hannah, although the LORD had closed her womb. ⁽⁶⁾ And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the LORD had closed her womb. ⁽⁷⁾ So it was, year by year, when she went up to the house of the LORD, that she provoked her; therefore she wept and did not eat. ⁽⁸⁾ Then Elkanah her husband said to her, 'Hannah, why do you weep? Why do you not eat? And why is your heart grieved? Am I not better to you than ten sons?'

⁽⁹⁾ So Hannah arose after they had finished eating and drinking in Shiloh. Now Eli the priest was sitting on the seat by the doorpost of the tabernacle of the LORD. ⁽¹⁰⁾ And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to the LORD and wept in anguish. ⁽¹¹⁾ Then she made a vow and said, 'O LORD of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the LORD all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.' ⁽¹²⁾ And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched her mouth.

⁽¹³⁾ Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. ⁽¹⁴⁾ So Eli said to her, 'How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!' ⁽¹⁵⁾ And Hannah answered and said, 'No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the LORD. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.'

⁽¹⁷⁾ Then Eli answered and said, 'Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ And she said, 'Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.' So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. ⁽¹⁹⁾ Then they rose early in the morning and worshiped before the LORD, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife, and the LORD remembered her. ⁽²⁰⁾ So it came to pass in the process of time that Hannah conceived and bore a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, 'Because I have asked for him from the LORD.'

Acts Chapter 1

⁽¹⁾ The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach, ⁽²⁾ until the day in which He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen, ⁽³⁾ to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God. ⁽⁴⁾ And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, 'which,' He said, 'you have heard from Me;

⁽⁵⁾ for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.' ⁽⁶⁾ Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, 'Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?' ⁽⁷⁾ And He said to them, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. ⁽⁸⁾ But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.'

⁽⁹⁾ Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. ⁽¹⁰⁾ And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, ⁽¹¹⁾ who also said, 'Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.' ⁽¹²⁾ Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.

⁽¹³⁾ And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. ⁽¹⁴⁾ These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Luke Chapter 20

⁽⁹⁾ Then He began to tell the people this parable: 'A certain man planted a vineyard, leased it to vinedressers, and went into a far country for a long time. ⁽¹⁰⁾ Now at vintage-time he sent a servant to the vinedressers, that they might give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the vinedressers beat him and sent him away empty-handed. ⁽¹¹⁾ Again he sent another servant; and they beat him also, treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. ⁽¹²⁾ And again he sent a third; and they wounded him also and cast him out.

⁽¹³⁾ Then the owner of the vineyard said, 'What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. Probably they will respect him when they see him.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ But when the vinedressers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, 'This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.' ⁽¹⁵⁾ So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? ⁽¹⁶⁾ He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others.' And when they heard it they said, 'Certainly not!'

⁽¹⁷⁾ Then He looked at them and said, 'What then is this that is written: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone'? ⁽¹⁸⁾ Whoever falls on that stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ And the chief priests and the scribes that very hour sought to lay hands on Him, but they feared the people -- for they knew He had spoken this parable against them.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
  the holy catholic Church,

Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
