Easter Week
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 145

⁽¹⁾ I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. ⁽²⁾ Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever. ⁽³⁾ Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable. ⁽⁴⁾ One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts.

Isaiah Chapter 25

⁽¹⁾ O LORD, You are my God. Acts Chapter 4

⁽¹³⁾ Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. ⁽¹⁴⁾ And seeing the man who had been healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it. ⁽¹⁵⁾ But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves, ⁽¹⁶⁾ saying, 'What shall we do to these men? For, indeed, that a notable miracle has been done through them is evident to all who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it.

⁽¹⁷⁾ But so that it spreads no further among the people, let us severely threaten them, that from now on they speak to no man in this name.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ And they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. ⁽¹⁹⁾ But Peter and John answered and said to them, 'Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. ⁽²⁰⁾ For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.'

⁽²¹⁾ So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way of punishing them, because of the people, since they all glorified God for what had been done.

John Chapter 16

⁽¹⁶⁾ A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.' ⁽¹⁷⁾ Then some of His disciples said among themselves, 'What is this that He says to us, 'A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me'; and, 'because I go to the Father'?' ⁽¹⁸⁾ They said therefore, 'What is this that He says, 'A little while'? We do not know what He is saying.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ Now Jesus knew that they desired to ask Him, and He said to them, 'Are you inquiring among yourselves about what I said, 'A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me'?

⁽²⁰⁾ Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. ⁽²¹⁾ A woman, when she is in labor, has sorrow because her hour has come; but as soon as she has given birth to the child, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. ⁽²²⁾ Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. ⁽²³⁾ And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.

Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full. ⁽²⁵⁾ These things I have spoken to you in figurative language; but the time is coming when I will no longer speak to you in figurative language, but I will tell you plainly about the Father. ⁽²⁶⁾ In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not say to you that I shall pray the Father for you; ⁽²⁷⁾ for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from God.

⁽²⁸⁾ I came forth from the Father and have come into the world. Again, I leave the world and go to the Father.' ⁽²⁹⁾ His disciples said to Him, 'See, now You are speaking plainly, and using no figure of speech! ⁽³⁰⁾ Now we are sure that You know all things, and have no need that anyone should question You. By this we believe that You came forth from God.' ⁽³¹⁾ Jesus answered them, 'Do you now believe?

⁽³²⁾ Indeed the hour is coming, yes, has now come, that you will be scattered, each to his own, and will leave Me alone. And yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me. ⁽³³⁾ These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

Seasonal Collect:  Saturday in Easter Week
We thank you, heavenly Father, that you have delivered us from the dominion of sin and death and brought us into the kingdom of your Son; and we pray that, as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his love he may raise us to eternal joys; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Almighty God, who after the creation of the world rested from all your works and sanctified a day of rest for all your creatures: Grant that we, putting away all earthly anxieties, may be duly prepared for the service of your sanctuary, and that our rest here upon earth may be a preparation for the eternal rest promised to your people in heaven; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer for Mission: Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name.
