Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 1

⁽¹⁾ Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; ⁽²⁾ But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. ⁽³⁾ He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. ⁽⁴⁾ The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

⁽⁵⁾ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ⁽⁶⁾ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 2

Deuteronomy Chapter 4

⁽⁹⁾ Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, ⁽¹⁰⁾ especially concerning the day you stood before the LORD your God in Horeb, when the LORD said to me, 'Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.' ⁽¹¹⁾ Then you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. ⁽¹²⁾ And the LORD spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. 2 Corinthians Chapter 10

⁽¹⁾ Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ -- who in presence am lowly among you, but being absent am bold toward you. ⁽²⁾ But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. ⁽³⁾ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. ⁽⁴⁾ For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

⁽⁵⁾ casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, ⁽⁶⁾ and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. ⁽⁷⁾ Do you look at things according to the outward appearance? If anyone is convinced in himself that he is Christ's, let him again consider this in himself, that just as he is Christ's, even so we are Christ's. ⁽⁸⁾ For even if I should boast somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord gave us for edification and not for your destruction, I shall not be ashamed --

⁽⁹⁾ lest I seem to terrify you by letters. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For his letters,' they say, 'are weighty and powerful, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.' ⁽¹¹⁾ Let such a person consider this, that what we are in word by letters when we are absent, such we will also be in deed when we are present. ⁽¹²⁾ For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

⁽¹³⁾ We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us -- a sphere which especially includes you. ⁽¹⁴⁾ For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the gospel of Christ; ⁽¹⁵⁾ not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men's labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, ⁽¹⁶⁾ to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man's sphere of accomplishment.

⁽¹⁷⁾ But 'he who glories, let him glory in the LORD.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

Matthew Chapter 6

⁽⁷⁾ And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. ⁽⁸⁾ Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. ⁽⁹⁾ In this manner, therefore, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ⁽¹⁰⁾ Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

⁽¹¹⁾ Give us this day our daily bread. ⁽¹²⁾ And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. ⁽¹³⁾ And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

Most loving Father, whose will it is for us to give thanks for all things, to fear nothing but the loss of you, and to cast all our care on you who care for us: Preserve us from faithless fears and worldly anxieties, that no clouds of this mortal life may hide from us the light of that love which is immortal, and which you have manifested to us in your Son Jesus Christ our Lord; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
