Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 97

⁽¹⁾ The LORD reigns; Let the earth rejoice; Let the multitude of isles be glad! ⁽²⁾ Clouds and darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. ⁽³⁾ A fire goes before Him, And burns up His enemies round about. ⁽⁴⁾ His lightnings light the world; The earth sees and trembles.

Psalm 99

Judges Chapter 13

⁽¹⁾ Again the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years. ⁽²⁾ Now there was a certain man from Zorah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren and had no children. ⁽³⁾ And the Angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, 'Indeed now, you are barren and have borne no children, but you shall conceive and bear a son. ⁽⁴⁾ Now therefore, please be careful not to drink wine or similar drink, and not to eat anything unclean.

⁽⁵⁾ For behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. And no razor shall come upon his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb; and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.' ⁽⁶⁾ So the woman came and told her husband, saying, 'A Man of God came to me, and His countenance was like the countenance of the Angel of God, very awesome; but I did not ask Him where He was from, and He did not tell me His name. ⁽⁷⁾ And He said to me, 'Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son. Now drink no wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.' ' ⁽⁸⁾ Then Manoah prayed to the LORD, and said, 'O my Lord, please let the Man of God whom You sent come to us again and teach us what we shall do for the child who will be born.'

⁽⁹⁾ And God listened to the voice of Manoah, and the Angel of God came to the woman again as she was sitting in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her. ⁽¹⁰⁾ Then the woman ran in haste and told her husband, and said to him, 'Look, the Man who came to me the other day has just now appeared to me!' ⁽¹¹⁾ So Manoah arose and followed his wife. When he came to the Man, he said to Him, 'Are You the Man who spoke to this woman?' And He said, 'I am.' ⁽¹²⁾ Manoah said, 'Now let Your words come to pass! What will be the boy's rule of life, and his work?'

⁽¹³⁾ So the Angel of the LORD said to Manoah, 'Of all that I said to the woman let her be careful. ⁽¹⁴⁾ She may not eat anything that comes from the vine, nor may she drink wine or similar drink, nor eat anything unclean. All that I commanded her let her observe.' ⁽¹⁵⁾ Then Manoah said to the Angel of the LORD, 'Please let us detain You, and we will prepare a young goat for You.'

Acts Chapter 5

⁽²⁷⁾ And when they had brought them, they set them before the council. And the high priest asked them, ⁽²⁸⁾ saying, 'Did we not strictly command you not to teach in this name? And look, you have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this Man's blood on us!' ⁽²⁹⁾ But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: 'We ought to obey God rather than men. ⁽³⁰⁾ The God of our fathers raised up Jesus whom you murdered by hanging on a tree.

⁽³¹⁾ Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. ⁽³²⁾ And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.' ⁽³³⁾ When they heard this, they were furious and plotted to kill them. ⁽³⁴⁾ Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while.

A number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He also perished, and all who obeyed him were dispersed. ⁽³⁸⁾ And now I say to you, keep away from these men and let them alone; for if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing;

⁽³⁹⁾ but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it -- lest you even be found to fight against God.' ⁽⁴⁰⁾ And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. ⁽⁴¹⁾ So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. ⁽⁴²⁾ And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

John Chapter 3

⁽²²⁾ After these things Jesus and His disciples came into the land of Judea, and there He remained with them and baptized. ⁽²³⁾ Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized. ⁽²⁴⁾ For John had not yet been thrown into prison. ⁽²⁵⁾ Then there arose a dispute between some of John's disciples and the Jews about purification.

⁽²⁶⁾ And they came to John and said to him, 'Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified -- behold, He is baptizing, and all are coming to Him!' ⁽²⁷⁾ John answered and said, 'A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from heaven. ⁽²⁸⁾ You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, 'I am not the Christ,' but, 'I have been sent before Him.' ⁽²⁹⁾ He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled.

⁽³⁰⁾ He must increase, but I must decrease. ⁽³¹⁾ He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. ⁽³²⁾ And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. ⁽³³⁾ He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true.

⁽³⁴⁾ For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. ⁽³⁵⁾ The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand. ⁽³⁶⁾ He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.'

A Song to the Lamb       Revelation 4:11, 5:9 to 10, 13

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,
For you created everything that is,
and by your will they were created
  and have their being;

for with your blood you have redeemed for God,
From every family, language, people, and nation,
a kingdom of priests to serve our God.

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
