Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 119

⁽⁴⁹⁾ Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. ⁽⁵⁰⁾ This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life. ⁽⁵¹⁾ The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law. ⁽⁵²⁾ I remembered Your judgments of old, O LORD, And have comforted myself.

⁽⁵³⁾ Indignation has taken hold of me Because of the wicked, who forsake Your law. ⁽⁵⁴⁾ Your statutes have been my songs In the house of my pilgrimage. ⁽⁵⁵⁾ I remember Your name in the night, O LORD, And I keep Your law. ⁽⁵⁶⁾ This has become mine, Because I kept Your precepts.

Joshua Chapter 8

⁽³⁰⁾ Now Joshua built an altar to the LORD God of Israel in Mount Ebal, ⁽³¹⁾ as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded the children of Israel, as it is written in the Book of the Law of Moses: 'an altar of whole stones over which no man has wielded an iron tool.' And they offered on it burnt offerings to the LORD, and sacrificed peace offerings. ⁽³²⁾ And there, in the presence of the children of Israel, he wrote on the stones a copy of the law of Moses, which he had written. ⁽³³⁾ Then all Israel, with their elders and officers and judges, stood on either side of the ark before the priests, the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the LORD, the stranger as well as he who was born among them. Half of them were in front of Mount Gerizim and half of them in front of Mount Ebal, as Moses the servant of the LORD had commanded before, that they should bless the people of Israel.

⁽³⁴⁾ And afterward he read all the words of the law, the blessings and the cursings, according to all that is written in the Book of the Law. ⁽³⁵⁾ There was not a word of all that Moses had commanded which Joshua did not read before all the assembly of Israel, with the women, the little ones, and the strangers who were living among them.

Romans Chapter 14

⁽¹³⁾ Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother's way. ⁽¹⁴⁾ I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil;

⁽¹⁷⁾ for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. ⁽¹⁸⁾ For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men. ⁽¹⁹⁾ Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another. ⁽²⁰⁾ Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offense.

⁽²¹⁾ It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak. ⁽²²⁾ Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves. ⁽²³⁾ But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.

Matthew Chapter 26

⁽⁵⁷⁾ And those who had laid hold of Jesus led Him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled. ⁽⁵⁸⁾ But Peter followed Him at a distance to the high priest's courtyard. And he went in and sat with the servants to see the end. ⁽⁵⁹⁾ Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the council sought false testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, ⁽⁶⁰⁾ but found none. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they found none. But at last two false witnesses came forward

⁽⁶¹⁾ and said, 'This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and to build it in three days.' ' ⁽⁶²⁾ And the high priest arose and said to Him, 'Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?' ⁽⁶³⁾ But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, 'I put You under oath by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!' ⁽⁶⁴⁾ Jesus said to him, 'It is as you said. Nevertheless, I say to you, hereafter you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven.'

⁽⁶⁵⁾ Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, 'He has spoken blasphemy! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! ⁽⁶⁶⁾ What do you think?' They answered and said, 'He is deserving of death.' ⁽⁶⁷⁾ Then they spat in His face and beat Him; and others struck Him with the palms of their hands, ⁽⁶⁸⁾ saying, 'Prophesy to us, Christ! Who is the one who struck You?'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Lord God, almighty and everlasting Father, you have brought us in safety to this new day: Preserve us with your mighty power, that we may not fall into sin, nor be overcome by adversity; and in all we do, direct us to the fulfilling of your purpose; through Jesus Christ our Lord. A Prayer for Mission: Lord Jesus Christ, you stretched out your arms of love on the hard wood of the cross that everyone might come within the reach of your saving embrace: So clothe us in your Spirit that we, reaching forth our hands in love, may bring those who do not know you to the knowledge and love of you; for the honor of your Name. Amen.
