Ordinary Time
I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord.' Psalm 122:1

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 26

⁽¹⁾ Vindicate me, O LORD, For I have walked in my integrity. I have also trusted in the LORD; I shall not slip. ⁽²⁾ Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart. ⁽³⁾ For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, And I have walked in Your truth. ⁽⁴⁾ I have not sat with idolatrous mortals, Nor will I go in with hypocrites.

Psalm 28

Joshua Chapter 2

⁽¹⁵⁾ Then she let them down by a rope through the window, for her house was on the city wall; she dwelt on the wall. ⁽¹⁶⁾ And she said to them, 'Get to the mountain, lest the pursuers meet you. Hide there three days, until the pursuers have returned. Afterward you may go your way.' ⁽¹⁷⁾ So the men said to her: 'We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, ⁽¹⁸⁾ unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you bring your father, your mother, your brothers, and all your father's household to your own home.

⁽¹⁹⁾ So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him. ⁽²⁰⁾ And if you tell this business of ours, then we will be free from your oath which you made us swear.' ⁽²¹⁾ Then she said, 'According to your words, so be it.' And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window. ⁽²²⁾ They departed and went to the mountain, and stayed there three days until the pursuers returned. The pursuers sought them all along the way, but did not find them.

⁽²³⁾ So the two men returned, descended from the mountain, and crossed over; and they came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all that had befallen them. ⁽²⁴⁾ And they said to Joshua, 'Truly the LORD has delivered all the land into our hands, for indeed all the inhabitants of the country are fainthearted because of us.'

Romans Chapter 11

⁽¹³⁾ For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, ⁽¹⁴⁾ if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. ⁽¹⁵⁾ For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? ⁽¹⁶⁾ For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

⁽¹⁷⁾ And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, ⁽¹⁸⁾ do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. ⁽¹⁹⁾ You will say then, 'Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.' ⁽²⁰⁾ Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

⁽²¹⁾ For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. ⁽²²⁾ Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. ⁽²³⁾ And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. ⁽²⁴⁾ For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

Matthew Chapter 25

⁽¹⁴⁾ For the kingdom of heaven is like a man traveling to a far country, who called his own servants and delivered his goods to them. ⁽¹⁵⁾ And to one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one, to each according to his own ability; and immediately he went on a journey. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Then he who had received the five talents went and traded with them, and made another five talents. ⁽¹⁷⁾ And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.

⁽¹⁸⁾ But he who had received one went and dug in the ground, and hid his lord's money. ⁽¹⁹⁾ After a long time the lord of those servants came and settled accounts with them. ⁽²⁰⁾ So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' ⁽²¹⁾ His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' ⁽²⁴⁾ Then he who had received the one talent came and said, 'Lord, I knew you to be a hard man, reaping where you have not sown, and gathering where you have not scattered seed. ⁽²⁵⁾ And I was afraid, and went and hid your talent in the ground. Look, there you have what is yours.'

⁽²⁶⁾ But his lord answered and said to him, 'You wicked and lazy servant, you knew that I reap where I have not sown, and gather where I have not scattered seed. ⁽²⁷⁾ So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers, and at my coming I would have received back my own with interest. ⁽²⁸⁾ Therefore take the talent from him, and give it to him who has ten talents. ⁽²⁹⁾ For to everyone who has, more will be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who does not have, even what he has will be taken away.

A Song to the Lamb       Revelation 4:11, 5:9 to 10, 13

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,
For you created everything that is,
and by your will they were created
  and have their being;

From every family, language, people, and nation,

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.

Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
