Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 106

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. ⁽²⁾ Who can utter the mighty acts of the LORD? Who can declare all His praise? ⁽³⁾ Blessed are those who keep justice, And he who does righteousness at all times! ⁽⁴⁾ Remember me, O LORD, with the favor You have toward Your people; Oh, visit me with Your salvation,

Numbers Chapter 22

⁽¹⁾ Then the children of Israel moved, and camped in the plains of Moab on the side of the Jordan across from Jericho. ⁽²⁾ Now Balak the son of Zippor saw all that Israel had done to the Amorites. ⁽³⁾ And Moab was exceedingly afraid of the people because they were many, and Moab was sick with dread because of the children of Israel. ⁽⁴⁾ So Moab said to the elders of Midian, 'Now this company will lick up everything around us, as an ox licks up the grass of the field.' And Balak the son of Zippor was king of the Moabites at that time.

⁽⁵⁾ Then he sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor at Pethor, which is near the River in the land of the sons of his people, to call him, saying: 'Look, a people has come from Egypt. See, they cover the face of the earth, and are settling next to me! ⁽⁶⁾ Therefore please come at once, curse this people for me, for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land, for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.' ⁽⁷⁾ So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the diviner's fee in their hand, and they came to Balaam and spoke to him the words of Balak. ⁽⁸⁾ And he said to them, 'Lodge here tonight, and I will bring back word to you, as the LORD speaks to me.' So the princes of Moab stayed with Balaam.

⁽⁹⁾ Then God came to Balaam and said, 'Who are these men with you?' ⁽¹⁰⁾ So Balaam said to God, 'Balak the son of Zippor, king of Moab, has sent to me, saying, ⁽¹¹⁾ Look, a people has come out of Egypt, and they cover the face of the earth. Come now, curse them for me; perhaps I shall be able to overpower them and drive them out.' ' ⁽¹²⁾ And God said to Balaam, 'You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.'

⁽¹³⁾ So Balaam rose in the morning and said to the princes of Balak, 'Go back to your land, for the LORD has refused to give me permission to go with you.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ And the princes of Moab rose and went to Balak, and said, 'Balaam refuses to come with us.' ⁽¹⁵⁾ Then Balak again sent princes, more numerous and more honorable than they. ⁽¹⁶⁾ And they came to Balaam and said to him, 'Thus says Balak the son of Zippor: 'Please let nothing hinder you from coming to me;

⁽¹⁷⁾ for I will certainly honor you greatly, and I will do whatever you say to me. Therefore please come, curse this people for me.' ' ⁽¹⁸⁾ Then Balaam answered and said to the servants of Balak, 'Though Balak were to give me his house full of silver and gold, I could not go beyond the word of the LORD my God, to do less or more. ⁽¹⁹⁾ Now therefore, please, you also stay here tonight, that I may know what more the LORD will say to me.' ⁽²⁰⁾ And God came to Balaam at night and said to him, 'If the men come to call you, rise and go with them; but only the word which I speak to you -- that you shall do.'

⁽²¹⁾ So Balaam rose in the morning, saddled his donkey, and went with the princes of Moab.

Romans Chapter 6

⁽¹²⁾ Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. ⁽¹³⁾ And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. ⁽¹⁴⁾ For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. ⁽¹⁵⁾ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!

⁽¹⁶⁾ Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? ⁽¹⁷⁾ But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. ⁽¹⁸⁾ And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. ⁽¹⁹⁾ I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness, and of lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness.

⁽²⁰⁾ For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. ⁽²¹⁾ What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death. ⁽²²⁾ But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life. ⁽²³⁾ For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew Chapter 21

Have you never read, 'Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise'?' ⁽¹⁷⁾ Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there. ⁽¹⁸⁾ Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry. ⁽¹⁹⁾ And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, 'Let no fruit grow on you ever again.' Immediately the fig tree withered away.

⁽²⁰⁾ And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, 'How did the fig tree wither away so soon?' ⁽²¹⁾ So Jesus answered and said to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' it will be done. ⁽²²⁾ And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
