Ordinary Time
I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go to the house of the Lord.' Psalm 122:1

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 107

⁽³³⁾ He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground; ⁽³⁴⁾ A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. ⁽³⁵⁾ He turns a wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. ⁽³⁶⁾ There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may establish a city for a dwelling place,

⁽³⁷⁾ And sow fields and plant vineyards, That they may yield a fruitful harvest. ⁽³⁸⁾ He also blesses them, and they multiply greatly; And He does not let their cattle decrease. ⁽³⁹⁾ When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction and sorrow, ⁽⁴⁰⁾ He pours contempt on princes, And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way;

Psalm 108

⁽¹⁾ O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory. ⁽²⁾ Awake, lute and harp! Numbers Chapter 20

⁽¹⁴⁾ Now Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom. 'Thus says your brother Israel: 'You know all the hardship that has befallen us, ⁽¹⁵⁾ how our fathers went down to Egypt, and we dwelt in Egypt a long time, and the Egyptians afflicted us and our fathers. ⁽¹⁶⁾ When we cried out to the LORD, He heard our voice and sent the Angel and brought us up out of Egypt; now here we are in Kadesh, a city on the edge of your border. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Please let us pass through your country. We will not pass through fields or vineyards, nor will we drink water from wells; we will go along the King's Highway; we will not turn aside to the right hand or to the left until we have passed through your territory.' '

⁽¹⁸⁾ Then Edom said to him, 'You shall not pass through my land, lest I come out against you with the sword.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ So the children of Israel said to him, 'We will go by the Highway, and if I or my livestock drink any of your water, then I will pay for it; let me only pass through on foot, nothing more.' ⁽²⁰⁾ Then he said, 'You shall not pass through.' So Edom came out against them with many men and with a strong hand. ⁽²¹⁾ Thus Edom refused to give Israel passage through his territory; so Israel turned away from him.

⁽²²⁾ Then the children of Israel, the whole congregation, journeyed from Kadesh and came to Mount Hor. ⁽²³⁾ And the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron in Mount Hor by the border of the land of Edom, saying: ⁽²⁴⁾ Aaron shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not enter the land which I have given to the children of Israel, because you rebelled against My word at the water of Meribah. ⁽²⁵⁾ Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up to Mount Hor;

⁽²⁶⁾ and strip Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; for Aaron shall be gathered to his people and die there.' ⁽²⁷⁾ So Moses did just as the LORD commanded, and they went up to Mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. ⁽²⁸⁾ Moses stripped Aaron of his garments and put them on Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there on the top of the mountain. Then Moses and Eleazar came down from the mountain. ⁽²⁹⁾ Now when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, all the house of Israel mourned for Aaron thirty days.

Romans Chapter 6

⁽¹⁾ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? ⁽²⁾ Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? ⁽³⁾ Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? ⁽⁴⁾ Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

⁽⁵⁾ For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, ⁽⁶⁾ knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin. ⁽⁷⁾ For he who has died has been freed from sin. ⁽⁸⁾ Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,

⁽⁹⁾ knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God. ⁽¹¹⁾ Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Matthew Chapter 21

⁽¹⁾ Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, ⁽²⁾ saying to them, 'Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. ⁽³⁾ And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, 'The Lord has need of them,' and immediately he will send them.' ⁽⁴⁾ All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

⁽⁵⁾ Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.' ⁽⁹⁾ Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: 'Hosanna to the Son of David! 'Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!' The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

O Lord, make us have perpetual love and reverence for your holy Name, for you never fail to help and govern those whom you have set upon the sure foundation of your loving kindness; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
