Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 16

⁽¹⁾ Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. ⁽²⁾ O my soul, you have said to the LORD, 'You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.' ⁽³⁾ As for the saints who are on the earth, 'They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.' ⁽⁴⁾ Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips.

⁽⁵⁾ O LORD,You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. ⁽⁶⁾ The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance. ⁽⁷⁾ I will bless the LORD who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. ⁽⁸⁾ I have set the LORD always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved.

Psalm 17

Proverbs Chapter 8

⁽¹⁾ Does not wisdom cry out, And understanding lift up her voice? ⁽²⁾ She takes her stand on the top of the high hill, Beside the way, where the paths meet. ⁽³⁾ She cries out by the gates, at the entry of the city, At the entrance of the doors: ⁽⁴⁾ To you, O men, I call, And my voice is to the sons of men.

2 John Chapter 1

⁽¹⁾ THE ELDER, To the elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth, ⁽²⁾ because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: ⁽³⁾ Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. ⁽⁴⁾ I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.

⁽⁵⁾ And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another. ⁽⁶⁾ This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it. ⁽⁷⁾ For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. ⁽⁸⁾ Look to yourselves, that we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

⁽⁹⁾ Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son. ⁽¹⁰⁾ If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him; ⁽¹¹⁾ for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds. ⁽¹²⁾ Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

Matthew Chapter 12

⁽¹⁾ At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat. ⁽²⁾ And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him, 'Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!' ⁽³⁾ But He said to them, 'Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, he and those who were with him: ⁽⁴⁾ how he entered the house of God and ate the showbread which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?

⁽⁵⁾ Or have you not read in the law that on the Sabbath the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are blameless? ⁽⁶⁾ Yet I say to you that in this place there is One greater than the temple. ⁽⁷⁾ But if you had known what this means, 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the guiltless. ⁽⁸⁾ For the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath.'

⁽⁹⁾ Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. ⁽¹⁰⁾ And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, 'Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?' -- that they might accuse Him. ⁽¹¹⁾ Then He said to them, 'What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? ⁽¹²⁾ Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.'

⁽¹³⁾ Then He said to the man, 'Stretch out your hand.' And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. ⁽¹⁴⁾ Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him.

The Second Song of Isaiah      Isaiah 55:6 to 11

Seek the Lord while he wills to be found;
call upon him when he draws near.
Let the wicked forsake their ways
and the evil ones their thoughts;
And let them turn to the Lord, and he will have compassion,

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
