Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;

The Lessons

Psalm 37

⁽¹⁾ Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. ⁽²⁾ For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb. ⁽³⁾ Trust in the LORD, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness. ⁽⁴⁾ Delight yourself also in the LORD, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Exodus Chapter 20

⁽¹⁾ And God spoke all these words, saying: ⁽²⁾ I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. ⁽³⁾ You shall have no other gods before Me. ⁽⁴⁾ You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

⁽⁵⁾ you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, ⁽⁶⁾ but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. ⁽⁷⁾ You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain. ⁽⁸⁾ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Colossians Chapter 1

⁽²⁴⁾ I now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up in my flesh what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for the sake of His body, which is the church, ⁽²⁵⁾ of which I became a minister according to the stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God, ⁽²⁶⁾ the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. ⁽²⁷⁾ To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Matthew Chapter 4

'

⁽⁵⁾ Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, ⁽⁶⁾ and said to Him, 'If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written: 'He shall give His angels charge over you,' and, 'In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' ' ⁽⁷⁾ Jesus said to him, 'It is written again, 'You shall not tempt the LORD your God.' ' ⁽⁸⁾ Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

⁽⁹⁾ And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.' ⁽¹⁰⁾ Then Jesus said to him, 'Away with you, Satan! For it is written, 'You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.' ' ⁽¹¹⁾ Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.

O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
