Morning Prayer

Easter Week
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

The death that he died, he died to sin, once for all;
  but the life he lives, he lives to God.

Psalm 146

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! ⁽²⁾ While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. ⁽³⁾ Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁽⁴⁾ His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

⁽⁵⁾ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, ⁽⁶⁾ Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, ⁽⁷⁾ Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. Psalm 147

Exodus Chapter 13

⁽³⁾ And Moses said to the people: 'Remember this day in which you went out of Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out of this place. No leavened bread shall be eaten. ⁽⁴⁾ On this day you are going out, in the month Abib. ⁽⁵⁾ And it shall be, when the LORD brings you into the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep this service in this month. ⁽⁶⁾ Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the LORD.

⁽⁷⁾ Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. 1 Corinthians Chapter 15

⁽⁴¹⁾ There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. ⁽⁴²⁾ So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. ⁽⁴³⁾ It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. ⁽⁴⁴⁾ It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

⁽⁴⁵⁾ And so it is written, 'The first man Adam became a living being.' The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. ⁽⁴⁶⁾ However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. ⁽⁴⁸⁾ As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ’s Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Collect of the Day: Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
