Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 87

Selah ⁽⁴⁾ I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to those who know Me; Behold, O Philistia and Tyre, with Ethiopia: 'This one was born there.' '

Psalm 90

1 Samuel Chapter 4

⁽¹⁾ And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out to battle against the Philistines, and encamped beside Ebenezer; and the Philistines encamped in Aphek. ⁽²⁾ Then the Philistines put themselves in battle array against Israel. And when they joined battle, Israel was defeated by the Philistines, who killed about four thousand men of the army in the field. ⁽³⁾ And when the people had come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, 'Why has the LORD defeated us today before the Philistines? Let us bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh to us, that when it comes among us it may save us from the hand of our enemies.' ⁽⁴⁾ So the people sent to Shiloh, that they might bring from there the ark of the covenant of the LORD of hosts, who dwells between the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.

⁽⁵⁾ And when the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, all Israel shouted so loudly that the earth shook. ⁽⁶⁾ Now when the Philistines heard the noise of the shout, they said, 'What does the sound of this great shout in the camp of the Hebrews mean?' Then they understood that the ark of the LORD had come into the camp. ⁽⁷⁾ So the Philistines were afraid, for they said, 'God has come into the camp!' And they said, 'Woe to us! For such a thing has never happened before. ⁽⁸⁾ Woe to us! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with all the plagues in the wilderness.

⁽⁹⁾ Be strong and conduct yourselves like men, you Philistines, that you do not become servants of the Hebrews, as they have been to you. Conduct yourselves like men, and fight!' ⁽¹⁰⁾ So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and every man fled to his tent. There was a very great slaughter, and there fell of Israel thirty thousand foot soldiers. ⁽¹¹⁾ Also the ark of God was captured; and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

Acts Chapter 4

⁽³²⁾ Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. ⁽³³⁾ And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. ⁽³⁴⁾ Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, ⁽³⁵⁾ and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need.

⁽³⁶⁾ And Joses, who was also named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement), a Levite of the country of Cyprus, ⁽³⁷⁾ having land, sold it, and brought the money and laid it at the apostles' feet. ⁽¹⁾ But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession. ⁽²⁾ And he kept back part of the proceeds, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles' feet. ⁽³⁾ But Peter said, 'Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself? ⁽⁴⁾ While it remained, was it not your own? And after it was sold, was it not in your own control? Why have you conceived this thing in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.'

⁽⁵⁾ Then Ananias, hearing these words, fell down and breathed his last. So great fear came upon all those who heard these things. ⁽⁶⁾ And the young men arose and wrapped him up, carried him out, and buried him. ⁽⁷⁾ Now it was about three hours later when his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. ⁽⁸⁾ And Peter answered her, 'Tell me whether you sold the land for so much?' She said, 'Yes, for so much.'

⁽⁹⁾ Then Peter said to her, 'How is it that you have agreed together to test the Spirit of the Lord? Look, the feet of those who have buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out.' ⁽¹⁰⁾ Then immediately she fell down at his feet and breathed her last. And the young men came in and found her dead, and carrying her out, buried her by her husband. ⁽¹¹⁾ So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things.

Luke Chapter 21

⁽²⁰⁾ But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is near. ⁽²¹⁾ Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her. ⁽²²⁾ For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. ⁽²³⁾ But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.

⁽²⁴⁾ And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. ⁽²⁵⁾ And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; ⁽²⁶⁾ men's hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken. ⁽²⁷⁾ Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

⁽²⁸⁾ Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.'

Keep, O Lord, your household the Church in your steadfast faith and love, that through your grace we may proclaim your truth with boldness, and minister your justice with compassion; for the sake of our Savior Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
