Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 132

Psalm 133

Micah Chapter 3

Acts Chapter 24

⁽¹⁾ Now after five days Ananias the high priest came down with the elders and a certain orator named Tertullus. These gave evidence to the governor against Paul. ⁽²⁾ And when he was called upon, Tertullus began his accusation, saying: 'Seeing that through you we enjoy great peace, and prosperity is being brought to this nation by your foresight, ⁽³⁾ we accept it always and in all places, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness. ⁽⁴⁾ Nevertheless, not to be tedious to you any further, I beg you to hear, by your courtesy, a few words from us.

⁽⁵⁾ For we have found this man a plague, a creator of dissension among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes. ⁽⁶⁾ He even tried to profane the temple, and we seized him, and wanted to judge him according to our law. ⁽⁷⁾ But the commander Lysias came by and with great violence took him out of our hands, ⁽⁸⁾ commanding his accusers to come to you. By examining him yourself you may ascertain all these things of which we accuse him.'

⁽⁹⁾ And the Jews also assented, maintaining that these things were so. ⁽¹⁰⁾ Then Paul, after the governor had nodded to him to speak, answered: 'Inasmuch as I know that you have been for many years a judge of this nation, I do the more cheerfully answer for myself, ⁽¹¹⁾ because you may ascertain that it is no more than twelve days since I went up to Jerusalem to worship. ⁽¹²⁾ And they neither found me in the temple disputing with anyone nor inciting the crowd, either in the synagogues or in the city.

⁽¹³⁾ Nor can they prove the things of which they now accuse me. ⁽¹⁴⁾ But this I confess to you, that according to the Way which they call a sect, so I worship the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and in the Prophets. ⁽¹⁵⁾ I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. ⁽¹⁶⁾ This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.

⁽¹⁷⁾ Now after many years I came to bring alms and offerings to my nation, ⁽¹⁸⁾ in the midst of which some Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with a mob nor with tumult. ⁽¹⁹⁾ They ought to have been here before you to object if they had anything against me. ⁽²⁰⁾ Or else let those who are here themselves say if they found any wrongdoing in me while I stood before the council,

⁽²¹⁾ unless it is for this one statement which I cried out, standing among them, 'Concerning the resurrection of the dead I am being judged by you this day.' ' ⁽²²⁾ But when Felix heard these things, having more accurate knowledge of the Way, he adjourned the proceedings and said, 'When Lysias the commander comes down, I will make a decision on your case.' ⁽²³⁾ So he commanded the centurion to keep Paul and to let him have liberty, and told him not to forbid any of his friends to provide for or visit him.

Luke Chapter 7

⁽³⁶⁾ Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat. ⁽³⁷⁾ And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, ⁽³⁸⁾ and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. ⁽³⁹⁾ Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, 'This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.'

⁽⁴⁰⁾ And Jesus answered and said to him, 'Simon, I have something to say to you.' So he said, 'Teacher, say it.' ⁽⁴¹⁾ There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁽⁴²⁾ And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?' ⁽⁴³⁾ Simon answered and said, 'I suppose the one whom he forgave more.' And He said to him, 'You have rightly judged.'

⁽⁴⁴⁾ Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, 'Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. ⁽⁴⁵⁾ You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. ⁽⁴⁶⁾ You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.'

⁽⁴⁸⁾ Then He said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' ⁽⁴⁹⁾ And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, 'Who is this who even forgives sins?' ⁽⁵⁰⁾ Then He said to the woman, 'Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,

Almighty and everlasting God, you are always more ready to hear than we to pray, and to give more than we either desire or deserve: Pour upon us the abundance of your mercy, forgiving us those things of which our conscience is afraid, and giving us those good things for which we are not worthy to ask, except through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ our Savior; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.
