Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Micah Chapter 1

Acts Chapter 23

⁽¹²⁾ And when it was day, some of the Jews banded together and bound themselves under an oath, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. ⁽¹³⁾ Now there were more than forty who had formed this conspiracy. ⁽¹⁴⁾ They came to the chief priests and elders, and said, 'We have bound ourselves under a great oath that we will eat nothing until we have killed Paul. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Now you, therefore, together with the council, suggest to the commander that he be brought down to you tomorrow, as though you were going to make further inquiries concerning him; but we are ready to kill him before he comes near.'

⁽¹⁶⁾ So when Paul's sister's son heard of their ambush, he went and entered the barracks and told Paul. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Then Paul called one of the centurions to him and said, 'Take this young man to the commander, for he has something to tell him.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ So he took him and brought him to the commander and said, 'Paul the prisoner called me to him and asked me to bring this young man to you. He has something to say to you.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ Then the commander took him by the hand, went aside and asked privately, 'What is it that you have to tell me?'

⁽²⁰⁾ And he said, 'The Jews have agreed to ask that you bring Paul down to the council tomorrow, as though they were going to inquire more fully about him. ⁽²¹⁾ But do not yield to them, for more than forty of them lie in wait for him, men who have bound themselves by an oath that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him; and now they are ready, waiting for the promise from you.' ⁽²²⁾ So the commander let the young man depart, and commanded him, 'Tell no one that you have revealed these things to me.' ⁽²³⁾ And he called for two centurions, saying, 'Prepare two hundred soldiers, seventy horsemen, and two hundred spearmen to go to Caesarea at the third hour of the night;

⁽²⁴⁾ and provide mounts to set Paul on, and bring him safely to Felix the governor.'

Luke Chapter 7

⁽¹⁾ Now when He concluded all His sayings in the hearing of the people, He entered Capernaum. ⁽²⁾ And a certain centurion's servant, who was dear to him, was sick and ready to die. ⁽³⁾ So when he heard about Jesus, he sent elders of the Jews to Him, pleading with Him to come and heal his servant. ⁽⁴⁾ And when they came to Jesus, they begged Him earnestly, saying that the one for whom He should do this was deserving,

⁽⁵⁾ for he loves our nation, and has built us a synagogue.' ⁽⁶⁾ Then Jesus went with them. And when He was already not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to Him, saying to Him, 'Lord, do not trouble Yourself, for I am not worthy that You should enter under my roof. ⁽⁷⁾ Therefore I did not even think myself worthy to come to You. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. ⁽⁸⁾ For I also am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it.'

⁽¹³⁾ When the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, 'Do not weep.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ Then He came and touched the open coffin, and those who carried him stood still. And He said, 'Young man, I say to you, arise.' ⁽¹⁵⁾ So he who was dead sat up and began to speak. And He presented him to his mother. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Then fear came upon all, and they glorified God, saying, 'A great prophet has risen up among us'; and, 'God has visited His people.'

Splendor and honor and kingly power
are yours by right, O Lord our God,

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79

Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,

that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
