Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 119

⁽⁴⁹⁾ Remember the word to Your servant, Upon which You have caused me to hope. ⁽⁵⁰⁾ This is my comfort in my affliction, For Your word has given me life. ⁽⁵¹⁾ The proud have me in great derision, Yet I do not turn aside from Your law. ⁽⁵²⁾ I remembered Your judgments of old, O LORD, And have comforted myself.

Job Chapter 29

Acts Chapter 14

⁽¹⁹⁾ Then Jews from Antioch and Iconium came there; and having persuaded the multitudes, they stoned Paul and dragged him out of the city, supposing him to be dead. ⁽²⁰⁾ However, when the disciples gathered around him, he rose up and went into the city. And the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. ⁽²¹⁾ And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, ⁽²²⁾ strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, 'We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.'

⁽²³⁾ So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed. ⁽²⁴⁾ And after they had passed through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia. ⁽²⁵⁾ Now when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia. ⁽²⁶⁾ From there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had completed.

⁽²⁷⁾ Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles. ⁽²⁸⁾ So they stayed there a long time with the disciples.

John Chapter 11

⁽¹⁾ Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha. ⁽²⁾ It was that Mary who anointed the Lord with fragrant oil and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick. ⁽³⁾ Therefore the sisters sent to Him, saying, 'Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick.' ⁽⁴⁾ When Jesus heard that, He said, 'This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.'

⁽⁵⁾ Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. ⁽⁶⁾ So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. ⁽⁷⁾ Then after this He said to the disciples, 'Let us go to Judea again.' ⁽⁸⁾ The disciples said to Him, 'Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?'

⁽⁹⁾ Jesus answered, 'Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. ⁽¹⁰⁾ But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.' ⁽¹¹⁾ These things He said, and after that He said to them, 'Our friend Lazarus sleeps, but I go that I may wake him up.' ⁽¹²⁾ Then His disciples said, 'Lord, if he sleeps he will get well.'

⁽¹³⁾ However, Jesus spoke of his death, but they thought that He was speaking about taking rest in sleep. ⁽¹⁴⁾ Then Jesus said to them plainly, 'Lazarus is dead. ⁽¹⁵⁾ And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.' ⁽¹⁶⁾ Then Thomas, who is called the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, 'Let us also go, that we may die with Him.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
