Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 25

⁽¹⁾ To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. ⁽²⁾ O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. ⁽³⁾ Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. ⁽⁴⁾ Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.

Jeremiah Chapter 44

⁽¹⁾ The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who dwell in the land of Egypt, who dwell at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Noph, and in the country of Pathros, saying, ⁽²⁾ Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'You have seen all the calamity that I have brought on Jerusalem and on all the cities of Judah; and behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them, ⁽³⁾ because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke Me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and to serve other gods whom they did not know, they nor you nor your fathers. ⁽⁴⁾ However I have sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending them, saying, 'Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!'

⁽⁵⁾ But they did not listen or incline their ear to turn from their wickedness, to burn no incense to other gods. ⁽⁶⁾ So My fury and My anger were poured out and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they are wasted and desolate, as it is this day.' ⁽⁷⁾ Now therefore, thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, child and infant, out of Judah, leaving none to remain, ⁽⁸⁾ in that you provoke Me to wrath with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have gone to dwell, that you may cut yourselves off and be a curse and a reproach among all the nations of the earth?

⁽⁹⁾ Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? ⁽¹⁰⁾ They have not been humbled, to this day, nor have they feared; they have not walked in My law or in My statutes that I set before you and your fathers.' ⁽¹¹⁾ Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Behold, I will set My face against you for catastrophe and for cutting off all Judah. ⁽¹²⁾ And I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to go into the land of Egypt to dwell there, and they shall all be consumed and fall in the land of Egypt. They shall be consumed by the sword and by famine. They shall die, from the least to the greatest, by the sword and by famine; and they shall be an oath, an astonishment, a curse and a reproach!

⁽¹³⁾ For I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, by the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, ⁽¹⁴⁾ so that none of the remnant of Judah who have gone into the land of Egypt to dwell there shall escape or survive, lest they return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return and dwell. For none shall return except those who escape.' '

1 Corinthians Chapter 15

⁽³⁰⁾ And why do we stand in jeopardy every hour? ⁽³¹⁾ I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. ⁽³²⁾ If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, 'Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!' ⁽³³⁾ Do not be deceived: 'Evil company corrupts good habits.'

⁽³⁴⁾ Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. ⁽³⁵⁾ But someone will say, 'How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?' ⁽³⁶⁾ Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. ⁽³⁷⁾ And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain -- perhaps wheat or some other grain.

⁽³⁸⁾ But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body. ⁽³⁹⁾ All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies; but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. ⁽⁴¹⁾ There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory.

Matthew Chapter 11

It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, ⁽¹⁷⁾ and saying: 'We played the flute for you, And you did not dance; We mourned to you, And you did not lament.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' But wisdom is justified by her children.'

⁽²⁰⁾ Then He began to rebuke the cities in which most of His mighty works had been done, because they did not repent: ⁽²¹⁾ Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes. ⁽²²⁾ But I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgment than for you. ⁽²³⁾ And you, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, will be brought down to Hades; for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Sodom, it would have remained until this day.

⁽²⁴⁾ But I say to you that it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for you.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
