Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 25

⁽¹⁾ To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. ⁽²⁾ O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed; Let not my enemies triumph over me. ⁽³⁾ Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; Let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. ⁽⁴⁾ Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.

2 Chronicles Chapter 6

⁽³²⁾ Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but who comes from a far country for the sake of Your great name and Your mighty hand and Your outstretched arm, when they come and pray in this temple; ⁽³³⁾ then hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name. ⁽³⁴⁾ When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, wherever You send them, and when they pray to You toward this city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name, ⁽³⁵⁾ then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

⁽³⁶⁾ When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to a land far or near; ⁽³⁷⁾ yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of their captivity, saying, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have committed wickedness'; ⁽³⁸⁾ and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been carried captive, and pray toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen, and toward the temple which I have built for Your name: ⁽³⁹⁾ then hear from heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive Your people who have sinned against You.

⁽⁴⁰⁾ Now, my God, I pray, let Your eyes be open and let Your ears be attentive to the prayer made in this place. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Now therefore, Arise, O LORD God, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your strength. Let Your priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, And let Your saints rejoice in goodness. ⁽⁴²⁾ O LORD God, do not turn away the face of Your Anointed; Remember the mercies of Your servant David.' ⁽¹⁾ When Solomon had finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the temple. ⁽²⁾ And the priests could not enter the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house. ⁽³⁾ When all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD on the temple, they bowed their faces to the ground on the pavement, and worshiped and praised the LORD, saying: 'For He is good, For His mercy endures forever.' ⁽⁴⁾ Then the king and all the people offered sacrifices before the LORD.

⁽⁵⁾ King Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the people dedicated the house of God. ⁽⁶⁾ And the priests attended to their services; the Levites also with instruments of the music of the LORD, which King David had made to praise the LORD, saying, 'For His mercy endures forever,' whenever David offered praise by their ministry. The priests sounded trumpets opposite them, while all Israel stood. ⁽⁷⁾ Furthermore Solomon consecrated the middle of the court that was in front of the house of the LORD; for there he offered burnt offerings and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar which Solomon had made was not able to receive the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat.

James Chapter 2

⁽¹⁾ My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality. ⁽²⁾ For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there should also come in a poor man in filthy clothes, ⁽³⁾ and you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, 'You sit here in a good place,' and say to the poor man, 'You stand there,' or, 'Sit here at my footstool,' ⁽⁴⁾ have you not shown partiality among yourselves, and become judges with evil thoughts?

⁽⁵⁾ Listen, my beloved brethren: Has God not chosen the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him? ⁽⁶⁾ But you have dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich oppress you and drag you into the courts? ⁽⁷⁾ Do they not blaspheme that noble name by which you are called? ⁽⁸⁾ If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself,' you do well;

⁽⁹⁾ but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. ⁽¹¹⁾ For He who said, 'Do not commit adultery,' also said, 'Do not murder.' Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law. ⁽¹²⁾ So speak and so do as those who will be judged by the law of liberty.

⁽¹³⁾ For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Mark Chapter 14

⁽⁵³⁾ And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes. ⁽⁵⁴⁾ But Peter followed Him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he sat with the servants and warmed himself at the fire. ⁽⁵⁵⁾ Now the chief priests and all the council sought testimony against Jesus to put Him to death, but found none. ⁽⁵⁶⁾ For many bore false witness against Him, but their testimonies did not agree.

⁽⁵⁷⁾ Then some rose up and bore false witness against Him, saying, ⁽⁵⁸⁾ We heard Him say, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and within three days I will build another made without hands.' ' ⁽⁵⁹⁾ But not even then did their testimony agree. ⁽⁶⁰⁾ And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, saying, 'Do You answer nothing? What is it these men testify against You?'

⁽⁶¹⁾ But He kept silent and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, 'Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?' ⁽⁶²⁾ Jesus said, 'I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.' ⁽⁶³⁾ Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, 'What further need do we have of witnesses? ⁽⁶⁴⁾ You have heard the blasphemy! What do you think?' And they all condemned Him to be deserving of death.

⁽⁶⁵⁾ Then some began to spit on Him, and to blindfold Him, and to beat Him, and to say to Him, 'Prophesy!' And the officers struck Him with the palms of their hands.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
