Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 146

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! ⁽²⁾ While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. ⁽³⁾ Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁽⁴⁾ His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

⁽⁵⁾ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, ⁽⁶⁾ Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, ⁽⁷⁾ Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. Psalm 147

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful. ⁽²⁾ The LORD builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. ⁽³⁾ He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds. ⁽⁴⁾ He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.

1 Samuel Chapter 14

⁽³⁶⁾ Now Saul said, 'Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and plunder them until the morning light; and let us not leave a man of them.' And they said, 'Do whatever seems good to you.' Then the priest said, 'Let us draw near to God here.' ⁽³⁷⁾ So Saul asked counsel of God, 'Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will You deliver them into the hand of Israel?' But He did not answer him that day. ⁽³⁸⁾ And Saul said, 'Come over here, all you chiefs of the people, and know and see what this sin was today. ⁽³⁹⁾ For as the LORD lives, who saves Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die.' But not a man among all the people answered him.

⁽⁴⁰⁾ Then he said to all Israel, 'You be on one side, and my son Jonathan and I will be on the other side.' And the people said to Saul, 'Do what seems good to you.' ⁽⁴¹⁾ Therefore Saul said to the LORD God of Israel, 'Give a perfect lot.' So Saul and Jonathan were taken, but the people escaped. ⁽⁴²⁾ And Saul said, 'Cast lots between my son Jonathan and me.' So Jonathan was taken. ⁽⁴³⁾ Then Saul said to Jonathan, 'Tell me what you have done.' And Jonathan told him, and said, 'I only tasted a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand. So now I must die!'

⁽⁴⁴⁾ And Saul answered, 'God do so and more also; for you shall surely die, Jonathan.' ⁽⁴⁵⁾ But the people said to Saul, 'Shall Jonathan die, who has accomplished this great deliverance in Israel? Certainly not! As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day.' So the people rescued Jonathan, and he did not die.

Romans Chapter 5

⁽¹⁾ Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, ⁽²⁾ through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. ⁽³⁾ And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; ⁽⁴⁾ and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

⁽⁵⁾ Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. ⁽⁶⁾ For when we were still without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. ⁽⁷⁾ For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. ⁽⁸⁾ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

⁽⁹⁾ Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. ⁽¹⁰⁾ For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. ⁽¹¹⁾ And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Matthew Chapter 22

⁽¹⁾ And Jesus answered and spoke to them again by parables and said: ⁽²⁾ The kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, ⁽³⁾ and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come. ⁽⁴⁾ Again, he sent out other servants, saying, 'Tell those who are invited, 'See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.' '

⁽⁵⁾ But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business. ⁽⁶⁾ And the rest seized his servants, treated them spitefully, and killed them. ⁽⁷⁾ But when the king heard about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. ⁽⁸⁾ Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy.

⁽⁹⁾ Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.' ⁽¹⁰⁾ So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests. ⁽¹¹⁾ But when the king came in to see the guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. ⁽¹²⁾ So he said to him, 'Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding garment?' And he was speechless.

⁽¹³⁾ Then the king said to the servants, 'Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' ⁽¹⁴⁾ For many are called, but few are chosen.'

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,
To give his people knowledge of salvation
by the forgiveness of their sins.

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
