Grace to you and peace from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. Phillipians 1:2

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

The Lessons

Psalm 34

⁽¹⁾ I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. ⁽²⁾ My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; The humble shall hear of it and be glad. ⁽³⁾ Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together. ⁽⁴⁾ I sought the LORD, and He heard me, And delivered me from all my fears.

⁽⁵⁾ They looked to Him and were radiant, And their faces were not ashamed. ⁽⁶⁾ This poor man cried out, and the LORD heard him, And saved him out of all his troubles. ⁽⁷⁾ The angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them. ⁽⁸⁾ Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!

1 Samuel Chapter 2

⁽²⁷⁾ Then a man of God came to Eli and said to him, 'Thus says the LORD: 'Did I not clearly reveal Myself to the house of your father when they were in Egypt in Pharaoh's house? ⁽²⁸⁾ Did I not choose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be My priest, to offer upon My altar, to burn incense, and to wear an ephod before Me? And did I not give to the house of your father all the offerings of the children of Israel made by fire? ⁽²⁹⁾ Why do you kick at My sacrifice and My offering which I have commanded in My dwelling place, and honor your sons more than Me, to make yourselves fat with the best of all the offerings of Israel My people?' ⁽³⁰⁾ Therefore the LORD God of Israel says: 'I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.' But now the LORD says: 'Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed.

⁽³¹⁾ Behold, the days are coming that I will cut off your arm and the arm of your father's house, so that there will not be an old man in your house. ⁽³²⁾ And you will see an enemy in My dwelling place, despite all the good which God does for Israel. And there shall not be an old man in your house forever. ⁽³³⁾ But any of your men whom I do not cut off from My altar shall consume your eyes and grieve your heart. And all the descendants of your house shall die in the flower of their age. ⁽³⁴⁾ Now this shall be a sign to you that will come upon your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die, both of them.

⁽³⁵⁾ Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever. ⁽³⁶⁾ And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left in your house will come and bow down to him for a piece of silver and a morsel of bread, and say, 'Please, put me in one of the priestly positions, that I may eat a piece of bread.'

Acts Chapter 2

⁽²²⁾ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know -- ⁽²³⁾ Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; ⁽²⁴⁾ whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it. ⁽²⁵⁾ For David says concerning Him: 'I foresaw the LORD always before my face, For He is at my right hand, that I may not be shaken.

⁽²⁶⁾ Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope. ⁽²⁷⁾ For You will not leave my soul in Hades, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. ⁽²⁸⁾ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.' ⁽²⁹⁾ Men and brethren, let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.

⁽³⁰⁾ Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, He would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne, ⁽³¹⁾ he, foreseeing this, spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left in Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. ⁽³²⁾ This Jesus God has raised up, of which we are all witnesses. ⁽³³⁾ Therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, He poured out this which you now see and hear.

⁽³⁴⁾ For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he says himself: 'The LORD said to my Lord, 'Sit at My right hand, ⁽³⁵⁾ Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.' ' ⁽³⁶⁾ Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.'

Luke Chapter 20

⁽⁴¹⁾ And He said to them, 'How can they say that the Christ is the Son of David? ⁽⁴²⁾ Now David himself said in the Book of Psalms: 'The LORD said to my Lord, 'Sit at My right hand, ⁽⁴³⁾ Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.' ' ⁽⁴⁴⁾ Therefore David calls Him 'Lord'; how is He then his Son?'

⁽⁴⁵⁾ Then, in the hearing of all the people, He said to His disciples, ⁽⁴⁶⁾ Beware of the scribes, who desire to go around in long robes, love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts, ⁽⁴⁷⁾ who devour widows' houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.' ⁽¹⁾ And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, ⁽²⁾ and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. ⁽³⁾ So He said, 'Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; ⁽⁴⁾ for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God, but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.'

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
