Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 30

⁽¹⁾ I will extol You, O LORD, for You have lifted me up, And have not let my foes rejoice over me. ⁽²⁾ O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me. ⁽³⁾ O LORD, You brought my soul up from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. ⁽⁴⁾ Sing praise to the LORD, You saints of His, And give thanks at the remembrance of His holy name.

Psalm 32

Job Chapter 22

⁽¹⁾ Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said: ⁽²⁾ Can a man be profitable to God, Though he who is wise may be profitable to himself? ⁽³⁾ Is it any pleasure to the Almighty that you are righteous? Or is it gain to Him that you make your ways blameless? ⁽⁴⁾ Is it because of your fear of Him that He corrects you, And enters into judgment with you?

⁽²¹⁾ Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you. ⁽²²⁾ Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, And lay up His words in your heart. ⁽²³⁾ If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents. ⁽²⁴⁾ Then you will lay your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks.

⁽²⁹⁾ When they cast you down, and you say, 'Exaltation will come!' Then He will save the humble person. ⁽³⁰⁾ He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.' ⁽¹⁾ Then Job answered and said: ⁽²⁾ Even today my complaint is bitter; My hand is listless because of my groaning. ⁽³⁾ Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, That I might come to His seat! ⁽⁴⁾ I would present my case before Him, And fill my mouth with arguments.

⁽⁵⁾ I would know the words which He would answer me, And understand what He would say to me. ⁽⁶⁾ Would He contend with me in His great power? No! But He would take note of me. ⁽⁷⁾ There the upright could reason with Him, And I would be delivered forever from my Judge.

Acts Chapter 13

⁽²⁶⁾ Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent. ⁽²⁷⁾ For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. ⁽²⁸⁾ And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death. ⁽²⁹⁾ Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.

⁽³⁰⁾ But God raised Him from the dead. ⁽³¹⁾ He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. ⁽³²⁾ And we declare to you glad tidings -- that promise which was made to the fathers. ⁽³³⁾ God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.'

⁽³⁴⁾ And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus: 'I will give you the sure mercies of David.' ⁽³⁵⁾ Therefore He also says in another Psalm: 'You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.' ⁽³⁶⁾ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; ⁽³⁷⁾ but He whom God raised up saw no corruption.

⁽³⁸⁾ Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; ⁽³⁹⁾ and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: ⁽⁴¹⁾ Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.' '

⁽⁴²⁾ So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. ⁽⁴³⁾ Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

John Chapter 10

⁽¹⁾ Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. ⁽²⁾ But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. ⁽³⁾ To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice; and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. ⁽⁴⁾ And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.

⁽⁵⁾ Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.' ⁽⁶⁾ Jesus used this illustration, but they did not understand the things which He spoke to them. ⁽⁷⁾ Then Jesus said to them again, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. ⁽⁸⁾ All who ever came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.

⁽⁹⁾ I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. ⁽¹⁰⁾ The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. ⁽¹¹⁾ I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. ⁽¹²⁾ But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them.

⁽¹³⁾ The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. ⁽¹⁴⁾ I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. ⁽¹⁵⁾ As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. ⁽¹⁶⁾ And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

⁽¹⁷⁾ Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. ⁽¹⁸⁾ No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.'
