Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 1

⁽¹⁾ Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; ⁽²⁾ But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. ⁽³⁾ He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. ⁽⁴⁾ The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

⁽⁵⁾ Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. ⁽⁶⁾ For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 2

Jeremiah Chapter 36

⁽¹¹⁾ When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, heard all the words of the LORD from the book, ⁽¹²⁾ he then went down to the king's house, into the scribe's chamber; and there all the princes were sitting -- Elishama the scribe, Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, Elnathan the son of Achbor, Gemariah the son of Shaphan, Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes. ⁽¹³⁾ Then Michaiah declared to them all the words that he had heard when Baruch read the book in the hearing of the people. ⁽¹⁴⁾ Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, 'Take in your hand the scroll from which you have read in the hearing of the people, and come.' So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand and came to them.

⁽¹⁵⁾ And they said to him, 'Sit down now, and read it in our hearing.' So Baruch read it in their hearing. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Now it happened, when they had heard all the words, that they looked in fear from one to another, and said to Baruch, 'We will surely tell the king of all these words.' ⁽¹⁷⁾ And they asked Baruch, saying, 'Tell us now, how did you write all these words -- at his instruction?' ⁽¹⁸⁾ So Baruch answered them, 'He proclaimed with his mouth all these words to me, and I wrote them with ink in the book.'

⁽¹⁹⁾ Then the princes said to Baruch, 'Go and hide, you and Jeremiah; and let no one know where you are.' ⁽²⁰⁾ And they went to the king, into the court; but they stored the scroll in the chamber of Elishama the scribe, and told all the words in the hearing of the king. ⁽²¹⁾ So the king sent Jehudi to bring the scroll, and he took it from Elishama the scribe's chamber. And Jehudi read it in the hearing of the king and in the hearing of all the princes who stood beside the king. ⁽²²⁾ Now the king was sitting in the winter house in the ninth month, with a fire burning on the hearth before him.

⁽²³⁾ And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe's knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth. ⁽²⁴⁾ Yet they were not afraid, nor did they tear their garments, the king nor any of his servants who heard all these words. ⁽²⁵⁾ Nevertheless Elnathan, Delaiah, and Gemariah implored the king not to burn the scroll; but he would not listen to them. ⁽²⁶⁾ And the king commanded Jerahmeel the king's son, Seraiah the son of Azriel, and Shelemiah the son of Abdeel, to seize Baruch the scribe and Jeremiah the prophet, but the LORD hid them.

1 Corinthians Chapter 13

⁽¹⁾ Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. ⁽²⁾ And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. ⁽³⁾ And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. ⁽⁴⁾ Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

⁽⁵⁾ does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; ⁽⁶⁾ does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; ⁽⁷⁾ bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. ⁽⁸⁾ Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

⁽⁹⁾ For we know in part and we prophesy in part. ⁽¹⁰⁾ But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away. ⁽¹¹⁾ When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. ⁽¹²⁾ For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

Matthew Chapter 10

⁽⁹⁾ Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, ⁽¹⁰⁾ nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food. ⁽¹¹⁾ Now whatever city or town you enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and stay there till you go out. ⁽¹²⁾ And when you go into a household, greet it.

⁽¹³⁾ If the household is worthy, let your peace come upon it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. ⁽¹⁴⁾ And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Assuredly, I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
  He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
