Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 146

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! ⁽²⁾ While I live I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. ⁽³⁾ Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. ⁽⁴⁾ His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; In that very day his plans perish.

⁽⁵⁾ Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God, ⁽⁶⁾ Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, ⁽⁷⁾ Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry. Psalm 147

⁽¹⁾ Praise the LORD! Jeremiah Chapter 36

⁽¹⁾ Now it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that this word came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying: ⁽²⁾ Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day. ⁽³⁾ It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the adversities which I purpose to bring upon them, that everyone may turn from his evil way, that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.' ⁽⁴⁾ Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote on a scroll of a book, at the instruction of Jeremiah, all the words of the LORD which He had spoken to him.

⁽⁵⁾ And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, 'I am confined, I cannot go into the house of the LORD. ⁽⁶⁾ You go, therefore, and read from the scroll which you have written at my instruction, the words of the LORD, in the hearing of the people in the LORD's house on the day of fasting. And you shall also read them in the hearing of all Judah who come from their cities. ⁽⁷⁾ It may be that they will present their supplication before the LORD, and everyone will turn from his evil way. For great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.' ⁽⁸⁾ And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading from the book the words of the LORD in the LORD's house.

Acts Chapter 14

⁽⁸⁾ And in Lystra a certain man without strength in his feet was sitting, a cripple from his mother's womb, who had never walked. ⁽⁹⁾ This man heard Paul speaking. Paul, observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, ⁽¹⁰⁾ said with a loud voice, 'Stand up straight on your feet!' And he leaped and walked. ⁽¹¹⁾ Now when the people saw what Paul had done, they raised their voices, saying in the Lycaonian language, 'The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men!'

⁽¹²⁾ And Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul, Hermes, because he was the chief speaker. ⁽¹³⁾ Then the priest of Zeus, whose temple was in front of their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, intending to sacrifice with the multitudes. ⁽¹⁴⁾ But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard this, they tore their clothes and ran in among the multitude, crying out ⁽¹⁵⁾ and saying, 'Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men with the same nature as you, and preach to you that you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them,

⁽¹⁶⁾ who in bygone generations allowed all nations to walk in their own ways. ⁽¹⁷⁾ Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.' ⁽¹⁸⁾ And with these sayings they could scarcely restrain the multitudes from sacrificing to them.

Luke Chapter 7

⁽³⁶⁾ Then one of the Pharisees asked Him to eat with him. And He went to the Pharisee's house, and sat down to eat. ⁽³⁷⁾ And behold, a woman in the city who was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at the table in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster flask of fragrant oil, ⁽³⁸⁾ and stood at His feet behind Him weeping; and she began to wash His feet with her tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head; and she kissed His feet and anointed them with the fragrant oil. ⁽³⁹⁾ Now when the Pharisee who had invited Him saw this, he spoke to himself, saying, 'This man, if He were a prophet, would know who and what manner of woman this is who is touching Him, for she is a sinner.'

⁽⁴⁰⁾ And Jesus answered and said to him, 'Simon, I have something to say to you.' So he said, 'Teacher, say it.' ⁽⁴¹⁾ There was a certain creditor who had two debtors. One owed five hundred denarii, and the other fifty. ⁽⁴²⁾ And when they had nothing with which to repay, he freely forgave them both. Tell Me, therefore, which of them will love him more?' ⁽⁴³⁾ Simon answered and said, 'I suppose the one whom he forgave more.' And He said to him, 'You have rightly judged.'

⁽⁴⁴⁾ Then He turned to the woman and said to Simon, 'Do you see this woman? I entered your house; you gave Me no water for My feet, but she has washed My feet with her tears and wiped them with the hair of her head. ⁽⁴⁵⁾ You gave Me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss My feet since the time I came in. ⁽⁴⁶⁾ You did not anoint My head with oil, but this woman has anointed My feet with fragrant oil. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ Therefore I say to you, her sins, which are many, are forgiven, for she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, the same loves little.'

⁽⁴⁸⁾ Then He said to her, 'Your sins are forgiven.' ⁽⁴⁹⁾ And those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, 'Who is this who even forgives sins?' ⁽⁵⁰⁾ Then He said to the woman, 'Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.'

The Song of Zechariah Luke 1: 68 to 79
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;
he has come to his people and set them free.
He has raised up for us a mighty savior,
born of the house of his servant David.
Through his holy prophets he promised of old,
that he would save us from our enemies,
from the hands of all who hate us.
He promised to show mercy to our fathers
and to remember his holy covenant.
This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,
to set us free from the hands of our enemies,
Free to worship him without fear,
holy and righteous in his sight
all the days of our life.
You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,
for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only son, our Lord.
  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
  He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.
  He descended to the dead.
  On the third day he rose again.
