Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 75

⁽¹⁾ We give thanks to You, O God, we give thanks! For Your wondrous works declare that Your name is near. ⁽²⁾ When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly. ⁽³⁾ The earth and all its inhabitants are dissolved; I set up its pillars firmly. Selah ⁽⁴⁾ I said to the boastful, 'Do not deal boastfully,' And to the wicked, 'Do not lift up the horn.

2 Kings Chapter 2

⁽¹⁾ And it came to pass, when the LORD was about to take up Elijah into heaven by a whirlwind, that Elijah went with Elisha from Gilgal. ⁽²⁾ Then Elijah said to Elisha, 'Stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Bethel.' But Elisha said, 'As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!' So they went down to Bethel. ⁽³⁾ Now the sons of the prophets who were at Bethel came out to Elisha, and said to him, 'Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?' And he said, 'Yes, I know; keep silent!' ⁽⁴⁾ Then Elijah said to him, 'Elisha, stay here, please, for the LORD has sent me on to Jericho.' But he said, 'As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!' So they came to Jericho.

⁽⁵⁾ Now the sons of the prophets who were at Jericho came to Elisha and said to him, 'Do you know that the LORD will take away your master from over you today?' But he said, 'As the LORD lives, and as your soul lives, I will not leave you!' Elisha said, 'Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.' ⁽¹⁰⁾ So he said, 'You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.' ⁽¹¹⁾ Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. ⁽¹²⁾ And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!' So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, 'The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.' And they came to meet him, and bowed to the ground before him. ⁽¹⁶⁾ Then they said to him, 'Look now, there are fifty strong men with your servants. Please let them go and search for your master, lest perhaps the Spirit of the LORD has taken him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.' And he said, 'You shall not send anyone.'

⁽¹⁷⁾ But when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, 'Send them!' Therefore they sent fifty men, and they searched for three days but did not find him. ⁽¹⁸⁾ And when they came back to him, for he had stayed in Jericho, he said to them, 'Did I not say to you, 'Do not go'?'

1 Corinthians Chapter 4

⁽¹⁾ Let a man so consider us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. ⁽²⁾ Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. ⁽³⁾ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by a human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself. ⁽⁴⁾ For I know nothing against myself, yet I am not justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.

⁽⁵⁾ Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one's praise will come from God. ⁽⁶⁾ Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively transferred to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. ⁽⁷⁾ For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Matthew Chapter 5
