Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 45

1 Kings Chapter 16

⁽²³⁾ In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel, and reigned twelve years. Six years he reigned in Tirzah. ⁽²⁴⁾ And he bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; then he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill. ⁽²⁵⁾ Omri did evil in the eyes of the LORD, and did worse than all who were before him. ⁽²⁶⁾ For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin by which he had made Israel sin, provoking the LORD God of Israel to anger with their idols.

⁽²⁷⁾ Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? ⁽²⁸⁾ So Omri rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria. ⁽³¹⁾ And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him. ⁽³²⁾ Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria. ⁽³³⁾ And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him. ⁽³⁴⁾ In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the word of the LORD, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.

Philippians Chapter 1

⁽¹²⁾ But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, ⁽¹³⁾ so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and to all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; ⁽¹⁴⁾ and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. ⁽¹⁵⁾ Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will:

⁽¹⁶⁾ The former preach Christ from selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my chains; ⁽¹⁷⁾ but the latter out of love, knowing that I am appointed for the defense of the gospel. ⁽¹⁸⁾ What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice. ⁽¹⁹⁾ For I know that this will turn out for my deliverance through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

⁽²⁰⁾ according to my earnest expectation and hope that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. ⁽²¹⁾ For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ⁽²²⁾ But if I live on in the flesh, this will mean fruit from my labor; yet what I shall choose I cannot tell. ⁽²³⁾ For I am hard pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.

⁽²⁴⁾ Nevertheless to remain in the flesh is more needful for you. ⁽²⁵⁾ And being confident of this, I know that I shall remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy of faith, ⁽²⁶⁾ that your rejoicing for me may be more abundant in Jesus Christ by my coming to you again. ⁽²⁷⁾ Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

⁽²⁸⁾ and not in any way terrified by your adversaries, which is to them a proof of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that from God. ⁽²⁹⁾ For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake, ⁽³⁰⁾ having the same conflict which you saw in me and now hear is in me.

Mark Chapter 16

⁽¹⁾ Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. ⁽²⁾ Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen. ⁽³⁾ And they said among themselves, 'Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?' ⁽⁴⁾ But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away -- for it was very large.

⁽⁵⁾ And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. ⁽⁶⁾ But he said to them, 'Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. ⁽⁷⁾ But go, tell His disciples -- and Peter -- that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you.' ⁽⁸⁾ So they went out quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

⁽⁹⁾ Now when He rose early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom He had cast seven demons. ⁽¹⁰⁾ She went and told those who had been with Him, as they mourned and wept. ⁽¹¹⁾ And when they heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they did not believe. ⁽¹²⁾ After that, He appeared in another form to two of them as they walked and went into the country.

⁽¹³⁾ And they went and told it to the rest, but they did not believe them either. ⁽¹⁴⁾ Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. ⁽¹⁵⁾ And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. ⁽¹⁶⁾ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

⁽¹⁷⁾ And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; ⁽¹⁸⁾ they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.' ⁽¹⁹⁾ So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. ⁽²⁰⁾ And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
