Ordinary Time
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 5

⁽¹⁾ Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. ⁽²⁾ Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I will pray. ⁽³⁾ My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will direct it to You, And I will look up. ⁽⁴⁾ For You are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness, Nor shall evil dwell with You.

Psalm 6

1 Kings Chapter 1

⁽³⁸⁾ So Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites went down and had Solomon ride on King David's mule, and took him to Gihon. ⁽³⁹⁾ Then Zadok the priest took a horn of oil from the tabernacle and anointed Solomon. And they blew the horn, and all the people said, 'Long live King Solomon!' ⁽⁴⁰⁾ And all the people went up after him; and the people played the flutes and rejoiced with great joy, so that the earth seemed to split with their sound. ⁽⁴¹⁾ Now Adonijah and all the guests who were with him heard it as they finished eating. And when Joab heard the sound of the horn, he said, 'Why is the city in such a noisy uproar?'

⁽⁴²⁾ While he was still speaking, there came Jonathan, the son of Abiathar the priest. And Adonijah said to him, 'Come in, for you are a prominent man, and bring good news.' ⁽⁴³⁾ Then Jonathan answered and said to Adonijah, 'No! Our lord King David has made Solomon king. ⁽⁴⁴⁾ The king has sent with him Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the Cherethites, and the Pelethites; and they have made him ride on the king's mule. ⁽⁴⁵⁾ So Zadok the priest and Nathan the prophet have anointed him king at Gihon; and they have gone up from there rejoicing, so that the city is in an uproar. This is the noise that you have heard.

⁽⁴⁶⁾ Also Solomon sits on the throne of the kingdom. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ And moreover the king's servants have gone to bless our lord King David, saying, 'May God make the name of Solomon better than your name, and may He make his throne greater than your throne.' Then the king bowed himself on the bed. ⁽⁴⁸⁾ Also the king said thus, 'Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who has given one to sit on my throne this day, while my eyes see it!' ' ⁽⁴⁹⁾ So all the guests who were with Adonijah were afraid, and arose, and each one went his way.

⁽⁵⁰⁾ Now Adonijah was afraid of Solomon; so he arose, and went and took hold of the horns of the altar. ⁽⁵¹⁾ And it was told Solomon, saying, 'Indeed Adonijah is afraid of King Solomon; for look, he has taken hold of the horns of the altar, saying, 'Let King Solomon swear to me today that he will not put his servant to death with the sword.' ' ⁽⁵²⁾ Then Solomon said, 'If he proves himself a worthy man, not one hair of him shall fall to the earth; but if wickedness is found in him, he shall die.' ⁽⁵³⁾ So King Solomon sent them to bring him down from the altar. And he came and fell down before King Solomon; and Solomon said to him, 'Go to your house.'

⁽¹⁾ Now the days of David drew near that he should die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying: ⁽²⁾ I go the way of all the earth; be strong, therefore, and prove yourself a man. ⁽³⁾ And keep the charge of the LORD your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn; ⁽⁴⁾ that the LORD may fulfill His word which He spoke concerning me, saying, 'If your sons take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul,' He said, 'you shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.'

Acts Chapter 26

⁽²⁴⁾ Now as he thus made his defense, Festus said with a loud voice, 'Paul, you are beside yourself! Much learning is driving you mad!' ⁽²⁵⁾ But he said, 'I am not mad, most noble Festus, but speak the words of truth and reason. ⁽²⁶⁾ For the king, before whom I also speak freely, knows these things; for I am convinced that none of these things escapes his attention, since this thing was not done in a corner. ⁽²⁷⁾ King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe.'

⁽²⁸⁾ Then Agrippa said to Paul, 'You almost persuade me to become a Christian.' ⁽²⁹⁾ And Paul said, 'I would to God that not only you, but also all who hear me today, might become both almost and altogether such as I am, except for these chains.' ⁽³⁰⁾ When he had said these things, the king stood up, as well as the governor and Bernice and those who sat with them; ⁽³¹⁾ and when they had gone aside, they talked among themselves, saying, 'This man is doing nothing deserving of death or chains.'

⁽³²⁾ Then Agrippa said to Festus, 'This man might have been set free if he had not appealed to Caesar.' ⁽¹⁾ And when it was decided that we should sail to Italy, they delivered Paul and some other prisoners to one named Julius, a centurion of the Augustan Regiment. ⁽²⁾ So, entering a ship of Adramyttium, we put to sea, meaning to sail along the coasts of Asia. Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, was with us. ⁽³⁾ And the next day we landed at Sidon. And Julius treated Paul kindly and gave him liberty to go to his friends and receive care. ⁽⁴⁾ When we had put to sea from there, we sailed under the shelter of Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.

⁽⁵⁾ And when we had sailed over the sea which is off Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia. ⁽⁶⁾ There the centurion found an Alexandrian ship sailing to Italy, and he put us on board. ⁽⁷⁾ When we had sailed slowly many days, and arrived with difficulty off Cnidus, the wind not permitting us to proceed, we sailed under the shelter of Crete off Salmone. ⁽⁸⁾ Passing it with difficulty, we came to a place called Fair Havens, near the city of Lasea.

Mark Chapter 13

⁽²⁸⁾ Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender, and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. ⁽²⁹⁾ So you also, when you see these things happening, know that it is near -- at the doors! ⁽³⁰⁾ Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. ⁽³¹⁾ Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

⁽³²⁾ But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. ⁽³³⁾ Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is. ⁽³⁴⁾ It is like a man going to a far country, who left his house and gave authority to his servants, and to each his work, and commanded the doorkeeper to watch. ⁽³⁵⁾ Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming -- in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning --

The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.

  He descended to the dead.
