Confession of Sin
Most merciful God,
I confess that I have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what I have done, and by what I have left undone. I have not loved you with my whole heart; I have not loved my neighbors as myself. I am truly sorry and I humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on me and forgive me; that I may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us all our sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen us in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep us in eternal life. Amen

Psalm 30

Psalm 32

1 Samuel Chapter 22

⁽¹⁾ David therefore departed from there and escaped to the cave of Adullam. And when his brothers and all his father's house heard it, they went down there to him. ⁽²⁾ And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in debt, and everyone who was discontented gathered to him. So he became captain over them. And there were about four hundred men with him. ⁽³⁾ Then David went from there to Mizpah of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, 'Please let my father and mother come here with you, till I know what God will do for me.' ⁽⁴⁾ So he brought them before the king of Moab, and they dwelt with him all the time that David was in the stronghold.

⁽⁵⁾ Now the prophet Gad said to David, 'Do not stay in the stronghold; depart, and go to the land of Judah.' So David departed and went into the forest of Hereth. ⁽⁶⁾ When Saul heard that David and the men who were with him had been discovered -- now Saul was staying in Gibeah under a tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants standing about him -- ⁽⁷⁾ then Saul said to his servants who stood about him, 'Hear now, you Benjamites! Will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all captains of thousands and captains of hundreds? ⁽⁸⁾ All of you have conspired against me, and there is no one who reveals to me that my son has made a covenant with the son of Jesse; and there is not one of you who is sorry for me or reveals to me that my son has stirred up my servant against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day.'

⁽⁹⁾ Then answered Doeg the Edomite, who was set over the servants of Saul, and said, 'I saw the son of Jesse going to Nob, to Ahimelech the son of Ahitub. ⁽¹⁰⁾ And he inquired of the LORD for him, gave him provisions, and gave him the sword of Goliath the Philistine.' ⁽¹¹⁾ So the king sent to call Ahimelech the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his father's house, the priests who were in Nob. And they all came to the king. ⁽¹²⁾ And Saul said, 'Hear now, son of Ahitub!' And he answered, 'Here I am, my lord.'

⁽¹³⁾ Then Saul said to him, 'Why have you conspired against me, you and the son of Jesse, in that you have given him bread and a sword, and have inquired of God for him, that he should rise against me, to lie in wait, as it is this day?' ⁽¹⁴⁾ So Ahimelech answered the king and said, 'And who among all your servants is as faithful as David, who is the king's son-in-law, who goes at your bidding, and is honorable in your house? ⁽¹⁵⁾ Did I then begin to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me! Let not the king impute anything to his servant, or to any in the house of my father. For your servant knew nothing of all this, little or much.' ⁽¹⁶⁾ And the king said, 'You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father's house!'

⁽¹⁷⁾ Then the king said to the guards who stood about him, 'Turn and kill the priests of the LORD, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew when he fled and did not tell it to me.' But the servants of the king would not lift their hands to strike the priests of the LORD. ⁽¹⁸⁾ And the king said to Doeg, 'You turn and kill the priests!' So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck the priests, and killed on that day eighty-five men who wore a linen ephod. ⁽¹⁹⁾ Also Nob, the city of the priests, he struck with the edge of the sword, both men and women, children and nursing infants, oxen and donkeys and sheep -- with the edge of the sword. ⁽²⁰⁾ Now one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.

⁽²¹⁾ And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the LORD's priests. ⁽²²⁾ So David said to Abiathar, 'I knew that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have caused the death of all the persons of your father's house. ⁽²³⁾ Stay with me; do not fear. For he who seeks my life seeks your life, but with me you shall be safe.'

Acts Chapter 13

⁽²⁶⁾ Men and brethren, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to you the word of this salvation has been sent. ⁽²⁷⁾ For those who dwell in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor even the voices of the Prophets which are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled them in condemning Him. ⁽²⁸⁾ And though they found no cause for death in Him, they asked Pilate that He should be put to death. ⁽²⁹⁾ Now when they had fulfilled all that was written concerning Him, they took Him down from the tree and laid Him in a tomb.

⁽³⁰⁾ But God raised Him from the dead. ⁽³¹⁾ He was seen for many days by those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. ⁽³²⁾ And we declare to you glad tidings -- that promise which was made to the fathers. ⁽³³⁾ God has fulfilled this for us their children, in that He has raised up Jesus. As it is also written in the second Psalm: 'You are My Son, Today I have begotten You.'

⁽³⁴⁾ And that He raised Him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, He has spoken thus: 'I will give you the sure mercies of David.' ⁽³⁵⁾ Therefore He also says in another Psalm: 'You will not allow Your Holy One to see corruption.' ⁽³⁶⁾ For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; ⁽³⁷⁾ but He whom God raised up saw no corruption.

⁽³⁸⁾ Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; ⁽³⁹⁾ and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. ⁽⁴⁰⁾ Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: ⁽⁴¹⁾ Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.' '

⁽⁴²⁾ So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. ⁽⁴³⁾ Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God.

Mark Chapter 3

⁽¹⁹⁾ and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him. And they went into a house. ⁽²⁰⁾ Then the multitude came together again, so that they could not so much as eat bread. ⁽²¹⁾ But when His own people heard about this, they went out to lay hold of Him, for they said, 'He is out of His mind.' ⁽²²⁾ And the scribes who came down from Jerusalem said, 'He has Beelzebub,' and, 'By the ruler of the demons He casts out demons.'

⁽²³⁾ So He called them to Himself and said to them in parables: 'How can Satan cast out Satan? ⁽²⁴⁾ If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. ⁽²⁵⁾ And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. ⁽²⁶⁾ And if Satan has risen up against himself, and is divided, he cannot stand, but has an end.

⁽²⁷⁾ No one can enter a strong man's house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds the strong man. And then he will plunder his house. ⁽²⁸⁾ Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; ⁽²⁹⁾ but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation' -- ⁽³⁰⁾ because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit.'

⁽³¹⁾ Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. ⁽³²⁾ And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, 'Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.' ⁽³³⁾ But He answered them, saying, 'Who is My mother, or My brothers?' ⁽³⁴⁾ And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, 'Here are My mother and My brothers!
