Year A – Ninth Sunday after Epiphany

Brothers and sisters, knowing that our help is in the Name of the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth, let us bring our needs and the needs of the whole world before Him.

For the Church: that denominations may be reconciled to one another in essential matters through a spirit of love, humility and wisdom.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For the peace of the world: that God would make wars cease and that the Prince of Peace would rule in the hearts of men.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For those persecuted for their faith in Christ: that they may remember the Lord’s promise of a great reward in heaven.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For our cities: that violence, poverty, fear and injustice may be replaced by peace, prosperity, mercy and revival.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For the elderly, the widowed, the orphaned and the unwanted child.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For the fruit of God’s Holy Spirit and His Gifts to be poured out abundantly upon His people.

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

For our own special intentions. (Pause)

Lord in Your mercy,Hear our prayer.

Heavenly Father, You continually demonstrate Your love for us. Hear our prayer and give us the grace to demonstrate our love for You through obedience and service. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
